🌟 Understanding the Mystery of Praise

📖 Exodus 15:11 – “Who is like unto thee, O LORD… fearful in praises, doing wonders?”

🔑 Introduction

Praise is not just music; it’s a mystery that moves God.

It is the only thing God cannot do for Himself, and when we do, He steps in.

When prayer seems exhausted, praise becomes the next weapon.

📌 1. What Makes Praise a Mystery?

a) Divine Presence is Released (Psalm 22:3; Psalm 114:1–3)

When Israel came out of Egypt, the sea saw them and fled because God was in their midst.

Illustration: Like when a child holds his father’s hand to face a bully—the bully flees, not because of the child but because of the father. Praise invites the Father into our battles.

b) God Does Fearful Things in Praise (Ex. 15:11)

Wonders are provoked in praise.

Example: Jericho’s walls fell flat at the sound of praise (Joshua 6:20).

c) Praise is a Hidden Wisdom (1 Cor. 2:7–8)

Satan understands prayer, but he is confused by praise because it transfers the battle to God.

Illustration: When you shift a case from a local court to the Supreme Court, the outcome changes. Praise shifts battles to God’s supreme court.

📌 2. Dimensions of Praise

a) Weapon of War (2 Chron. 20:22; Psalm 149:3–9)

Jehoshaphat’s army didn’t fight with swords but with songs—enemies destroyed themselves.

Modern Example: A woman once testified that when doctors gave up on her case, she locked herself in a room, danced before God for hours, and later received her healing report.

b) Channel of Blessing (Rev. 5:12; Psalm 47:4; Psalm 92:10–13)

Inheritances are released in the midst of praise.

Illustration: Hannah sang a song after Samuel was born—her praise provoked the release of more children (1 Sam. 2:1–5).

c) Pathway to Joy & Wisdom (Psalm 16:11; Eccl. 10:10; Phil. 4:4)

Joy is the atmosphere of revelation. Praise connects you to fresh insight.

Example: Paul and Silas praised in prison; their chains fell off, but more than that, wisdom opened the prison doors for salvation of the jailer (Acts 16:25–34).

📌 3. What Praise Produces

Divine Intervention – Paul & Silas (Acts 16:25).

Fruitfulness & Longevity – Psalm 92:12–14, flourishing even in old age.

Victory & Elevation – Hab. 3:17–19, praise lifts us above circumstances.

Fresh Anointing – Psalm 34:1; Psalm 89:20.

Unstoppable Advancement – No one gets stranded in praise.

👉 Testimony: Bishop David Oyedepo shared how God told him during crisis in ministry: “My son, you have complained enough, now give me praise.” As he switched to praise, the ministry exploded in growth.

📌 4. Practical Keys

Thank God daily for small things—gratitude multiplies blessings.

Dance, sing, and rejoice like David (2 Sam. 6:14).

Replace worry with worship and complaints with celebration.

Keep a personal praise journal—document things God has done and celebrate them often.

📌 Prophetic Declarations

As you praise, inheritances will be released into your hands.

Your enemies will turn against themselves.

Fresh oil will flow upon your life.

Every prison door is opening for you now!

You will flourish and remain fruitful even in old age.

📌 Conclusion

To take God for granted is to be grounded.

Praise is the believer’s greatest secret for victory.

🎯 When you don’t know what else to do—praise is what next to do.
