THE MAKING OF A LEADER by Kay Daniels

Today, as I meditated on the book of 1 Samuel 8, 9 and 10, I got wordspired on two ways leaders emerge on this side of the divide.

God created man and gave him dominion over the earth. The dominion he gave to man shut his "absolute" rulership of earth out.

God is a Spirit but gave earth to spirit in a body. The spirit in a body has complete control of earth. Spirits without a body are therefore illegal on the face of the earth.

God, as it were made himself "illegal" on the earth, outside of the express permission of man.

He demonstrated this in the beginning after creating man. The responsibility of naming the animals and all other creatures were given to man. The garden situated at Eden required that man keep and dress it.

When he decided destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, he confided in Abraham. It seems, God can do nothing much on the earth without the express permission of man on the earth.

The responsibility to give form to the earth is in the hands of the son of man. This is why Jesus often referred to himself as the "son of man", that was what made his earthly ministry legal on the earth.

He did this so he could show mankind the approved way to becoming an offspring of the Spirit - son of God. This required the express, uncohersed permission of man.

This is why I believe Isaac did not qualify to become the route to salvation. He did not know and therefore did not willing consent to be made a sacrifice. So a ram became a replacement.

But the coming of Jesus rewrote the narrative. At the garden of Gethsemane, the permission or uncohersed will of Jesus was sought in Matthew 26:39, 42  And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

He willingly made a decision to go all the way to the cross and offer himself a sacrifice for the sin of mankind. He made this decision fully as the son of man.

If he had made this decision as the son of God, God would have violated his word that gave dominion of earth to the sons of men.

Psalms 138:2  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

God places great premium on what he says than even his name. God has said have dominion, and that stands true for ever. God gave Jesus a name that above every other name, but not above his word.

You can take God's word to the bank and "cash out" big time without the fear of rejection. His word is his bond - absolute integrity!

Now that we have accepted Jesus - his name, we, by the word of God possess the ability to give form to the earth. We can not allow what God wills or disallow.

God wanted to remain king over mankind but man wanted earthly kings.... Since that was what the willed, God permitted it.

1 Samuel 8:7  And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

The making of a leader begins from understanding who really is in control.
