SOUL - ACTIVATE!
Understanding the power and
wisdom of your soul.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and
the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and
empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of
God was hovering over the waters. Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning, God was confronted with three major challenges:
·
Lack
of structure (No form)
·
Lack
of Substance or provision (Voidness)
·
Lack
of light (darkness)
Rather than sit down and bemoan his situation, like most
people in the world would have done, he analyzed the situation and came up with
an idea. What was the idea? He had to deal with the most critical issue, and
that was darkness.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Genesis 1:3
God sought light, that is knowledge or information, wisdom, or understanding….
The coming of Light made all that was available to become
visible.
When all became visible, it was easy for God to enrich the
earth with treasures…. dealing with emptiness or voidness.
He then created man to give the earth structure or form.
IN THE BEGINNING AS A YOUTH
As a youth, our life is not different from what transpired in
the beginning with God.
Most youths begin life with no definite direction, no structure,
no form, single, lonely, broke, and often without knowledge, wisdom, or understanding.
Unfortunately, many young people seek after the wrong things
first in their life. Some seek after structure or form, and others seek after
substance, wealth, or riches. Only the wise follow the footsteps of the
almighty God.
Proverbs 23:26 “My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes
observe my ways.” As a youth, it is wisdom to have your eyes observe the ways
of God. That is where true security and lasting peace dwell.
What are you to seek first? The first thing to seek after as
a youth is the activation of your soul.
What is the soul?
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our
image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in
the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild
animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move
along the ground.” So, God created mankind in his own image, in the
image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:26-27
The original Hebrew text for create is “bara”. It is also believed that bara refers
to supernatural creation ex nihilo (Latin for “out of
nothing”). I safely put it as creating means to bring out of something
invisible. God is invisible, and so if He created man from himself, that looks
like him and has his behavioral patterns, then that being would be invisible,
just like him.
But God did not stop there, another word was introduced, asah (to
make or do), asah means to make out of pre-existing material and
therefore allows for creation over a long period of time. This explains why God
did this, “Then the Lord God formed a man[a] from the dust of the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a
living being.”
So, God created the spirit man and formed the earth – man,
via His nostrils, God injected the spirit man into the earth–man and man
became a living soul. God created two things, but the third one was a
resultant.
This living soul had an imagination, memory, intellect,
emotion, and will of its own. With its imagination, it has the capacity to think, pre-play
or generate ideas like God.
With memory, it had the capacity to remember, recall or replay
past occurrences. It could recall tragedies or testimonies.
With intellect, it has the capacity to process information,
make sense of data, and use what has been captured by the imagination and
stored in the memory to make informed decisions.
With emotion, it has the capacity to attract whatever has
been searched out in the intellect. Whatever the intellect resolves would always
make the emotion act as a magnet. There is a kind of supernatural attraction that
takes place in this realm of the soul.
With the will, it has the capacity to make decisions based on
choices that have to be made as it relates to supernatural attractions.
