Wisdom for Your Career Journey

Here’s some wisdom for you, with scriptural backing to guide your steps!

1. PICTURE – Begin with an end in mind. Where do you see yourself making your utmost contribution in your career? Let that be your frame of reference for career decisions.
   📖 Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) – "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he."

2. PLAN – Determine how you will make your career decisions.
   📖 Proverbs 16:3 (NIV) – "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."

3. PARTICIPATE – Get involved in business activities that empower your capabilities and position you in the direction you have defined.
   📖 Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NIV) – "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might."

4. PROJECT – Research into the philosophy of the organisation and the team you’ll be working with. This helps you to prepare how to navigate your relationships if you choose to go with the firm.
   📖 Luke 14:28 (ESV) – "For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?"

5. POSITIONING – Make yourself visible to those who can influence your career trajectory. Your visibility should be amplifying your capabilities and results.
   📖 Matthew 5:16 (NIV) – "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

6. PRODUCE – Deliver value with every opportunity you have. Don’t lean on excuses.
   📖 Colossians 3:23 (NIV) – "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

7. PHILOSOPHY – Have principles and philosophies to guide your decisions. Let them be your considerations for decision-making, particularly when in a dilemma.
   📖 Proverbs 4:7 (NIV) – "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."
