DAY 25: THE SPIRIT OF SURRENDER
Scripture Reading
Old Testament: Isaiah 6:8 (KJV)
"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
New Testament: Romans 6:13-14 (KJV)
"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."
Wordspiration Bible Study
Surrender is the key to the Spirit-filled life. When we yield ourselves to God, the Holy Spirit fills us and uses us for His purposes.
Isaiah's response to God's call is the ultimate model of surrender: "Here am I; send me." He did not ask for details or guarantees; he simply surrendered to God's will. This is the kind of surrender the Holy Spirit desires in us.
Paul calls us to yield our members—our bodies, our faculties, our resources—as instruments of righteousness. Surrender is not passive; it is active. We consciously choose to give ourselves to God and to His service.
The result of surrender is freedom. Paul declares, "Sin shall not have dominion over you." When we yield to God, we are free from the dominion of sin. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live righteously.
As distinguished and impactful lights, we must be surrendered people. Our surrender distinguishes us from a world that is self-centered and self-protective. Our willingness to say "Here am I; send me" opens the door for God to use us mightily.
Prophetic Declaration
I yield myself to God! My body is an instrument of righteousness. I am alive from the dead, and I offer myself to God. Sin does not have dominion over me. I say, "Here am I, Lord—send me!" I surrender completely to His will!
Kingdom Advancement Prayer
For the Church: Lord, raise up a surrendered Church. Let us yield ourselves fully to Your will and be used for Your purposes.
For Nigeria: Lord, raise up surrendered leaders in Nigeria who will serve with integrity and humility.
For Africa: We pray for a generation of surrendered believers across Africa who will answer Your call.
For Ghana: Let surrendered believers rise up.
For Kenya: Raise up those who will say "Here am I."
For South Africa: Let the Church be surrendered to God's will.
Personal Supplication
Father, I surrender my life to You. I am not my own—I have been bought with a price. I yield my body, my time, my resources, and my future to You. Use me for Your glory. Here am I; send me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Prophetic Word for the Day
"The Lord says: I am looking for surrendered vessels. Those who yield to Me, I will use. Those who hold back, I cannot use. Surrender is not weakness—it is the source of My power working through you. Yield today, and watch what I will do."
