DAY 27 — FRUITFUL IN EVERY GOOD WORK
Old Testament: Psalm 92:12–15
New Testament: Colossians 1:9–11
Memory Verse: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” — Colossians 1:10
π WORDSPIRATION: FRUITFUL IN EVERY GOOD WORK
God did not create you merely to exist, occupy space, accumulate possessions, or remain busy. You were created to bear fruit. There is a difference between activity and productivity. A person can be extremely busy and yet accomplish very little that has eternal value. But when your life is connected to God, He gives your efforts purpose, your gifts direction, and your labour eternal significance. Jesus said in John 15:5, “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit.” True fruitfulness begins with abiding in Christ.
The world desperately needs people whose lives produce good fruit. We live in a generation searching for hope, truth, peace, righteousness, compassion and genuine love. Many people are surrounded by religion but have never encountered the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Some have money but no peace; knowledge but no wisdom; influence but no purpose; possessions but an empty soul. The greatest fruit we can bear is a life that points people back to Christ. Your workplace, family, school, business, community and digital platform can become an avenue through which someone encounters the love and saving power of Jesus.
Fruitfulness is also demonstrated through character. Galatians 5:22–23 speaks of the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. God is not only interested in what we accomplish; He is interested in who we become while accomplishing it. May our success never destroy our character, and may our influence never separate us from Christ. May the things we build bless people rather than exploit them; may our words heal rather than destroy; may our knowledge serve humanity; and may our prosperity become a channel of generosity.
Perhaps you have looked at your life and wondered, “What have I really achieved?” Do not despise your season. A tree does not produce fruit overnight. There are seasons of planting, watering, pruning, waiting and growing. Psalm 92 declares that those planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish and continue to bear fruit. Your present season is not the final chapter of your story. As you remain planted in God, He can cause your life to become fruitful even in difficult circumstances. What appears insignificant today can become a testimony tomorrow.
And to everyone reading this who has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ: there is still an invitation of grace. You do not have to continue carrying the burden of sin, guilt, emptiness and separation from God. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners and reconcile humanity to God. His grace is available to you—not because you have earned it, but because of His love. Turn to Him, believe in Him, repent of your sins and receive Him as Lord and Saviour. The greatest fruitfulness begins when a life is surrendered to its Creator.
Beloved, do not measure your life only by what you possess; measure it by the lives you touch, the good you accomplish, the character you demonstrate and the glory you give to God. May your hands produce solutions, your mind generate ideas, your voice speak hope, your resources advance God's Kingdom, and your life become a blessing to generations. May God make you fruitful in your family, career, ministry, business, education, community and every good work.
