1. WHO WE ARE

Center for Creative Youth International (CCYI) is a faith-based, non-governmental youth, leadership and entrepreneurship development organization committed to raising a new generation of creative, responsible, innovative and transformational young people.

Founded from a passion to see young people discover purpose, develop capacity and positively influence their communities, CCYI works across schools, tertiary institutions, churches, communities, organizations and emerging leadership networks.

Our work is built around the conviction that the transformation of Africa begins with the transformation of its people—particularly its young people.

We therefore invest in mind development, leadership formation, entrepreneurship, creativity, spiritual growth, character development, civic responsibility and practical skills.

To raise a new generation of outstanding leaders, entrepreneurs and change-makers who will transform Africa and influence the world through integrity, innovation, selfless service, excellence and kingdom-inspired values.

We envision young people who are equipped to:

To influence the destiny of young people through leadership development, entrepreneurship, personal development, skills training, mentorship, networking and values-based empowerment.

CCYI creates platforms through which young people can receive the knowledge, mentorship, exposure, skills and opportunities required to become productive citizens, responsible leaders and innovative entrepreneurs.

6. OUR STORY

The Center for Creative Youth International grew out of a divine call and a passion to raise a new generation of youths, leaders and entrepreneurs who would contribute meaningfully to the transformation of Africa.

The movement began as Impact Makers, a student-focused initiative at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, where young people gathered for interactive sessions focused on leadership, personal development and positive societal influence.

Following the initial work of the movement, the vision expanded beyond the university environment.

In 2002, the initiative became increasingly focused on developing a wider platform for youth transformation.

In 2003, leadership development programmes were organized for secondary school students in Owerri, Imo State, during the founder's National Youth Service Corps programme.

In 2004, additional training programmes were organized at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede and Alvan Ikoku College of Education in Owerri, Imo State.

On 22 January 2005, the organization was formally inaugurated under the name Center for Creative Youth International at Sango Plaza Hotel, Ota, Ogun State, with the theme:

"RISING UP TO A NEW LEVEL"

Since then, CCYI has continued to develop programmes, summits, training initiatives and community interventions aimed at empowering young people and strengthening leadership capacity.

Over the years, the organization has organized leadership summits, relationship programmes, entrepreneurship initiatives, creativity events, faith-based programmes, youth interactive forums and community development activities.

Recognizing Divine Open Doors

“I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it.” — Revelation 3:8

God is the Master of divine opportunities. He opens doors that human strength cannot open and closes doors that would lead us away from His purpose. Throughout Scripture, we see that many significant moments in God's plan began with an unexpected opportunity—a door that only divine providence could have opened.

Joseph's prison became a pathway to the palace.
Esther's position in the palace became a doorway to the preservation of a nation.
David's encounter with Goliath became a door into national recognition.
Ruth's decision to remain with Naomi positioned her for a new destiny.
Paul's imprisonment became an opportunity to spread the Gospel beyond the places he could physically reach.

What looked like an interruption was often an introduction to something greater.

Not Every Open Door Looks Like an Opportunity

One of the greatest challenges in recognizing divine doors is that they do not always look attractive.

Sometimes the door looks like responsibility.

Sometimes it looks like sacrifice.

Sometimes it looks like starting small.

Sometimes it requires leaving what is familiar.

Sometimes it comes through an unexpected person.

Sometimes it demands that you step into territory where you have never walked before.

If you only accept opportunities that are comfortable, you may miss some of the greatest doors God has prepared for you.

A divine door may require faith before it reveals its reward.

Therefore, don't ask only, “Is this easy?”

Ask:

“Is this God?”

Discernment Is More Important Than Excitement

Not every opportunity is a divine opportunity.

Some doors look attractive but lead to distraction.

Some relationships look promising but compromise your values.

Some opportunities offer quick success but slowly pull you away from God's purpose.

This is why you need more than ambition—you need spiritual discernment.

Before walking through a door, pray.

Seek God's Word.

Listen to the Holy Spirit.

Examine your motives.

Consider the consequences.

Seek wise counsel.

And ask whether the opportunity aligns with the purpose God has placed in your heart.

A door can be open and still not be your door.

Don't Let Fear Keep You Outside

Sometimes God opens the door, but fear keeps us standing at the entrance.

You see the opportunity, but you think:

"What if I fail?"

"What if I'm not qualified?"

"What will people say?"

"What if this is too big for me?"

Remember this: God does not always give you the full picture before asking you to take the first step.

Abraham had to leave before he knew exactly where he was going.

Peter had to step out of the boat before experiencing the miracle of walking on water.

Joshua had to step into the Jordan before the waters parted.

Faith often begins where certainty ends.

Don't Miss Your Season Through Procrastination

There are doors that require timely action.

A door can be recognized and still missed if we continually postpone obedience.

Sometimes we say:

"I'll start next year."

"I'll apply later."

"I'll make that call tomorrow."

"I'll write the book someday."

"I'll start the business when everything is perfect."

But perfection is often the excuse procrastination uses to disguise itself.

When God gives you an opportunity, don't allow fear to dress itself as wisdom.

Pray, discern, prepare, and when God gives you peace to move—move.

Divine Doors Carry Divine Grace

One of the beautiful things about a God-ordained opportunity is that God provides grace for the assignment.

The door may be bigger than your current ability, but the grace of God is bigger than your limitations.

You may not know everything, but you can learn.

You may not have everything, but God can provide.

You may not have all the connections, but God can send the right people.

You may not feel ready, but obedience can become the classroom where preparation takes place.

Never measure a divine opportunity only by what you currently have. Measure it by the God who opened the door.

Your Current Position May Be Preparing You for the Door

Sometimes the open door is connected to what you are doing right now.

Your current job may be developing skills you will need later.

Your current relationships may be preparing you for a future assignment.

Your present challenges may be developing the character required for your next level.

Your seemingly small responsibilities may be training you for greater influence.

Joseph learned administration before he governed Egypt.

David learned leadership while caring for sheep.

Moses learned in the wilderness before leading Israel.

Preparation often happens before opportunity becomes visible.

So don't despise your present season.

Learn.

Grow.

Serve.

Prepare.

Pray.

The door may already be closer than you think.

There Is a Door With Your Name on It

God has assignments, opportunities, relationships, and territories prepared for every season of your life.

You do not need to force every door.

You do not need to manipulate people.

You do not need to compromise your values to create opportunities.

What God opens, He can sustain.

Your responsibility is to remain faithful, discerning, prepared, and willing.

When the door opens, walk through it with humility.

When the door closes, trust God.

When you are waiting, prepare.

When you are uncertain, pray.

When you recognize the opportunity, obey.

Final Word

Today, ask God to open your spiritual eyes.

There may be a door in front of you that you have been calling a burden.

There may be an opportunity you have been calling too small.

There may be a person you have overlooked.

There may be an assignment you have been postponing.

There may be a new territory God is inviting you to enter.

Don't miss your moment because you were expecting the door to look different.

Your next breakthrough may not arrive with noise.

It may arrive as an opportunity.

It may arrive as an introduction.

It may arrive as an assignment.

It may arrive as a responsibility.

It may arrive as a simple invitation to take one more step.

Recognize it.

Pray about it.

Prepare for it.

Walk through it.

And when God opens the door, don't stand outside wondering whether you are worthy.

Remember:

The One who opened the door is the One who will give you grace to walk through it.

Prayer

Father, give me spiritual eyes to recognize every divine door You place before me. Deliver me from fear, doubt, procrastination, and distractions that could cause me to miss my appointed opportunities. Give me wisdom to distinguish Your doors from those that are not part of Your purpose. When You open a door, give me courage to walk through it, humility to serve, and faith to trust You with the outcome. May I never miss the opportunities You have prepared for my life and assignment. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Your door may already be open. Ask God for the eyes to recognize it and the courage to walk through it. Rev 3:7-8

Recognizing Your Place of Influence

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14

There is a reason you are where you are.

Your family is not accidental.
Your workplace is not merely a place to earn a salary.
Your community is not simply where you happen to live.
The people around you are not random.

God can position a person in a place long before the person understands why they are there.

Sometimes we are so focused on where we want to go that we fail to recognize the significance of where God has placed us right now.

But your present location can be part of God's preparation for your future assignment.

Your Position Is a Platform

The world may look at your position and see a job title, an office, a business, a classroom, a family role, or a social responsibility.

But God sees a platform for influence.

You may be an employee, but you are also a witness.

You may be a business owner, but you are also a Kingdom representative.

You may be a student, but you are also an influence among your classmates.

You may be a parent, but you are also shaping a generation.

You may be a community leader, but you are also carrying an opportunity to demonstrate God's values.

Your position is not merely where you work; it is where your influence works.

Jesus said:

“You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:13–14

Salt does not need a stage to make an impact.

Light does not need permission to shine.

Wherever God places you, shine there.

Do Not Despise Your Current Place

Sometimes we believe our influence will begin when we receive a promotion, relocate to another city, become financially successful, or receive a bigger platform.

But God often says:

“Start where you are.”

Joseph did not begin influencing Egypt from a palace. His journey included the pit and the prison.

Daniel did not begin in a position of national influence. He started as an exile serving in a foreign system.

David was anointed king while still serving his father's household and caring for sheep.

Esther found herself in a palace before she fully understood that her position was connected to the preservation of an entire people.

Your current position may be preparation for your future influence.

Don't despise the small office.

Don't despise the small business.

Don't despise the classroom.

Don't despise the neighborhood.

Don't despise the assignment that seems insignificant.

You may be standing in a place today because Heaven has strategically positioned you there.

The People Around You Are Part of Your Assignment

Look around you.

Who sits beside you at work?

Who lives around you?

Who reports to you?

Who do you supervise?

Who do you teach?

Who do you regularly interact with?

Who looks up to you?

Who needs encouragement?

Who needs wisdom?

Who needs to see what authentic Christianity looks like?

These people are within your sphere of influence for a reason.

You may be the only Bible some of them will read this week.

You may be the person through whom someone encounters kindness when they have lost hope.

Your integrity may challenge someone's dishonesty.

Your patience may change someone's perception of Christianity.

Your generosity may become someone's testimony.

Your words may restore someone's courage.

Your life may become the bridge through which someone finds Christ.

Influence Is More Than Preaching

You don't have to stand behind a pulpit to advance God's Kingdom.

You can preach through excellence.

You can preach through integrity.

You can preach through compassion.

You can preach through honesty.

You can preach through how you treat people.

You can preach through how you conduct business.

You can preach through how you respond to pressure.

You can preach through how you handle success.

Your life is preaching something every day.

The question is: What is it saying?

Your Workplace Is a Mission Field

Perhaps God has placed you in an organization where people don't know Christ.

Instead of constantly asking, “When will God move me somewhere better?”

Ask:

“Lord, why have You placed me here?”

Maybe there is someone you are supposed to mentor.

Maybe there is a problem you are supposed to solve.

Maybe there is a culture you are supposed to influence.

Maybe there is an opportunity to demonstrate Kingdom leadership.

Maybe there is someone who needs to see Christ through your character.

Your workplace may be your mission field.

Your business may be your ministry platform.

Your profession may be part of your Kingdom assignment.

Influence Begins With Recognition

You cannot maximize a place you have failed to recognize.

The first step is to understand:

“I am here by divine design.”

Then ask:

“Who has God placed around me?”

Then:

“What difference can I make here?”

And finally:

“How can I represent Christ faithfully in this place?”

Recognition produces responsibility.

Once you recognize your sphere of influence, you can no longer treat it casually.

Be Faithful Where You Are

Don't wait for a bigger platform before becoming faithful.

If you cannot influence five people with integrity, a larger audience will not solve the problem.

If you cannot serve faithfully in obscurity, visibility may expose your weaknesses rather than magnify your impact.

God often tests us with small influence before entrusting us with greater influence.

Be faithful with today's assignment.

Love today's people.

Serve today's community.

Solve today's problems.

Use today's opportunities.

And trust God with tomorrow.

Your Influence Can Become Your Legacy

One day, people may not remember your job title.

They may not remember your salary.

They may not remember the size of your office.

But they will remember how you made them feel.

They will remember the person who believed in them.

The person who prayed for them.

The person who gave them an opportunity.

The person who taught them.

The person who showed them integrity.

The person who introduced them to Christ.

That is Kingdom influence.

You are not where you are merely to occupy space.

You are there to make a difference.

You are there to carry light into darkness.

You are there to bring hope where there is despair.

You are there to demonstrate the character of Christ.

You are there to influence people toward God's purpose.

So don't keep looking for another place before you start making an impact.

Recognize your place.

Recognize your people.

Recognize your responsibility.

Recognize your influence.

Because the place you are standing today may be the very place God has chosen for your light to shine.

One of the greatest gifts God can bring into a person's life is the right mentor at the right season.

Destiny may be given by God, but the journey into destiny often requires people who have travelled the road before you. A Kingdom mentor is more than someone with knowledge or experience. A Kingdom mentor is someone whose life, wisdom, character, and spiritual journey can help you become who God has called you to be.

Sometimes God will place someone in your life not because they will give you everything you want, but because they will teach you what you need to know.

A mentor can see potential in you before you see it in yourself.

They can recognize a gift you have overlooked.

They can warn you about a pit you cannot yet see.

They can challenge you when comfort is keeping you from growth.

They can open your understanding through lessons learned from their own journey.

One conversation with the right mentor can save you years of unnecessary mistakes.

Not Every Teacher Is a Mentor

Wisdom requires discernment.

Just because someone is successful does not mean they are assigned to mentor you. Just because someone has a large following does not mean they have the character to shape your life. Just because someone is gifted does not mean they are spiritually mature.

A Kingdom mentor must be evaluated by fruit, not fame.

Look at their character.

Look at their prayer life.

Look at their integrity.

Look at how they treat people who cannot benefit them.

Look at their family life.

Look at their attitude toward money and power.

Look at whether they celebrate the success of others.

Most importantly, look at whether their life points you toward Christ or toward themselves.

A true Kingdom mentor does not build followers for personal glory. They build people for God's purpose.

A True Mentor Will Tell You the Truth

One of the greatest blessings of a genuine mentor is that they will not always tell you what you want to hear.

They will tell you what you need to hear.

When you are wrong, they will correct you.

When you are becoming proud, they will humble you.

When you are moving too quickly, they may tell you to wait.

When fear is holding you back, they will challenge you to step forward.

When you are wasting your potential, they will confront your excuses.

A true mentor does not correct to destroy you.

They correct because they can see what you can become.

David needed Jonathan.

Elisha needed Elijah.

Joshua needed Moses.

Timothy needed Paul.

Apollos needed Priscilla and Aquila.

Even Jesus' disciples needed years of instruction, correction, observation, and relationship before they were released into their assignment.

Nobody becomes great by refusing to learn.

A Mentor Carries Something You Need

Every genuine mentor carries lessons from a road you have not yet travelled.

They have survived battles you may be approaching.

They have made mistakes you can avoid.

They have discovered principles through experience.

They have developed disciplines that can accelerate your growth.

They may carry a spiritual mantle, professional expertise, leadership wisdom, or practical knowledge that God wants to transfer into your life.

This is why humility is essential.

You cannot receive from someone you constantly compete with.

You cannot be mentored by someone you secretly despise.

You cannot learn from someone you believe you already know more than.

Pride says, “I know enough.”

Humility says, “Teach me.”

The moment you become unteachable, your growth begins to slow.

Mentorship Is More Than Information

A Kingdom mentor does not merely transfer information.

They transfer perspective.

They help you see what you could not see.

They don't simply give you answers; they teach you how to think.

They don't merely give you opportunities; they prepare you to handle opportunities.

They don't just tell you how to succeed; they help shape the character required to sustain success.

This is why mentorship is not simply about having someone's phone number or attending their programmes.

Mentorship requires relationship, observation, application, and accountability.

If God gives you a mentor, don't merely listen to their words.

Study their discipline.

Observe their character.

Learn from their decisions.

Apply their wisdom.

And allow their correction to produce growth in you.

The Right Mentor Will Not Create Dependence

A Kingdom mentor should not make you permanently dependent upon them.

Their goal should be to help you mature.

Paul mentored Timothy, but Timothy eventually had to carry the assignment himself.

Elijah mentored Elisha, but Elisha eventually had to walk in his own prophetic calling.

Moses mentored Joshua, but Joshua eventually had to lead Israel.

The purpose of mentorship is not to reproduce a clone; it is to release a capable son or daughter.

A healthy mentor helps you discover your own voice, develop your own convictions, and fulfill your own assignment.

They don't want you to become them.

They want you to become everything God created you to be.

If You Are Looking for a Mentor

Don't only pray:

"Lord, send me a mentor."

Also pray:

"Lord, make me teachable enough to recognize one."

Because sometimes the mentor has already appeared, but pride prevented recognition.

Sometimes the person you dismissed as "too ordinary" carries the wisdom you need.

Sometimes the correction you resisted was the very instruction God was using to prepare you.

Sometimes your mentor may not look like you expected.

Ask God for spiritual eyes.

Ask Him to connect you with people who carry wisdom, integrity, grace, and genuine Kingdom purpose.

And don't be in a hurry to call someone your mentor simply because you admire them.

Watch their fruit.

Study their life.

Observe their consistency.

Pray about the relationship.

Let trust develop over time.

If You Are Already a Mentor

Perhaps God has already placed someone behind you who is watching your life.

They may not tell you.

They may be studying how you handle pressure.

How you pray.

How you treat people.

How you respond when you fail.

How you handle success.

How you conduct business.

How you serve God.

Someone is learning from your life.

Therefore, don't only teach with your mouth.

Teach with your life.

Your example may become someone's blueprint.

Your discipline may become someone's foundation.

Your courage may become someone's permission to dream.

Your faithfulness may become someone's reason not to quit.

Your correction may save someone from a costly mistake.

You are not simply influencing a person.

You may be shaping a generation.

The Kingdom Needs Both Mentors and Mentees

We need fathers who will pour into sons.

Mothers who will raise daughters.

Leaders who will develop leaders.

Professionals who will train professionals.

Believers who will disciple believers.

Older generations who will transfer wisdom to younger generations.

And younger generations humble enough to receive it.

A healthy Kingdom is a mentoring Kingdom.

We should never become so successful that we stop learning, and we should never become so knowledgeable that we stop receiving wisdom.

There is always someone ahead of you from whom you can learn.

And there is always someone behind you whom you can help.

Final Word

Your destiny is too important to navigate without wisdom.

Ask God for mentors who will sharpen you, correct you, challenge you, pray for you, and help you recognize the grace God has placed upon your life.

And when God sends them, honour them.

Learn from them.

Serve them.

Receive correction.

Apply their wisdom.

But ultimately, keep your eyes on Christ.

For the greatest mentor is not merely the person who teaches you how to succeed.

It is the person who helps you become more like Jesus while fulfilling your God-given assignment.

You are carrying something that the next generation needs.

Someone helped you get this far.

Now prepare yourself to help someone else go further.

You are not just being mentored for your destiny.

You are being prepared to become a mentor for somebody else's destiny.

One of the greatest treasures God can place in your life is the right person at the right time for the right purpose.

Destiny is personal, but it is rarely fulfilled alone. God often connects people to people because there are dimensions of purpose that can only be activated through relationships. Some doors will open because of your gift; other doors will open because God connects you with someone who recognizes, supports, recommends, teaches, or partners with that gift.

Divine connections are relationships orchestrated by God for the advancement of purpose.

They are more than casual acquaintances. They are strategic alignments of people, purpose, values, and assignment.

Think about the relationships throughout Scripture.

Joseph's relationship with Pharaoh's officials eventually became part of the pathway to the palace.

David had Jonathan, whose friendship strengthened him during one of the most difficult seasons of his life.

Elisha found Elijah, and that relationship became part of his preparation for prophetic ministry.

Ruth found Naomi, and through that relationship she entered a destiny she could never have designed for herself.

Paul found Barnabas, who believed in him when others were still afraid of him.

Priscilla and Aquila became important partners in strengthening Apollos and advancing the Gospel.

These were not merely friendships. They were relationships carrying divine purpose.

The Right Connection Can Change Your Direction

Sometimes you are one conversation away from a major change in your life.

One person can introduce you to an opportunity.

One mentor can save you years of unnecessary mistakes.

One friend can give you courage when you are ready to quit.

One business partner can help transform an idea into an organization.

One teacher can awaken a gift you never knew existed.

One spouse can become a powerful partner in fulfilling God's assignment.

One spiritual leader can provide the wisdom you need for your next season.

This is why we must learn to recognize the people God brings into our lives.

A divine connection may be carrying an answer to a prayer you have been praying.

But there is an important principle: recognition must be followed by relationship.

You cannot receive the benefits of a connection you refuse to cultivate.

Divine Connections Require Investment

Relationships do not become meaningful by accident.

They require time.

They require communication.

They require trust.

They require generosity.

They require patience.

They require forgiveness.

They require sacrifice.

Sometimes the relationship God sends you will challenge you rather than comfort you. A genuine mentor may correct you. A true friend may tell you the truth. A Kingdom partner may challenge you to think bigger. A spiritual father or mother may confront attitudes that could destroy your future.

Do not reject everyone who challenges you simply because they make you uncomfortable.

Sometimes your greatest growth is hidden inside a relationship that stretches you.

Not Every Connection Is Divine

Spiritual maturity also requires discernment.

Not everyone who enters your life is assigned to your destiny.

Some relationships are temporary.

Some are instructional.

Some are seasonal.

Some are beneficial.

Some are distractions.

And some may be destructive.

Therefore, don't call every connection "divine" simply because you like someone or because they offer you an opportunity.

Test relationships by their fruit.

Does this person draw you closer to God?

Do they encourage integrity?

Do they respect your values?

Do they challenge you to grow?

Do they celebrate your progress without competing with you?

Can you trust their character?

Do they add value to your purpose?

A genuine divine connection will not consistently pull you away from God's will while claiming to help you fulfill it.

Purpose requires discernment.

Your Divine Connection May Not Look Like You Expect

Sometimes we miss divine connections because we are looking for the wrong appearance.

We expect someone wealthy.

God sends someone wise.

We expect someone famous.

God sends someone faithful.

We expect someone powerful.

God sends someone who knows what we need to know.

We expect a person who will give us everything.

God sends someone who will teach us how to build it ourselves.

Never judge the value of a connection by its appearance.

The person who looks insignificant today may carry an instruction that becomes significant tomorrow.

Become a Divine Connection

While praying for God to send the right people into your life, don't forget to ask God to make you the right person in someone else's life.

Someone may need your encouragement.

Someone may need your expertise.

Someone may need your connection.

Someone may need your financial support.

Someone may need your prayer.

Someone may need your introduction.

Someone may simply need you to believe in them.

Barnabas became a bridge for Paul.

Jonathan strengthened David.

Moses had Aaron.

Ruth became part of Naomi's restoration.

You may be the answer to someone else's prayer.

Therefore, don't live only asking, "Who can help me?"

Ask a greater question:

"Lord, whose destiny have You sent me to help?"

Don't Use People—Serve People

Divine connections are not opportunities to manipulate people for personal gain.

If God connects you to someone influential, don't immediately ask, "What can I get from this person?"

Ask:

"What value can I bring?"

Kingdom relationships are built on service, honour, generosity, and mutual growth.

Jesus taught that greatness in His Kingdom is connected to serving others.

The right people should not merely make your life better; together, you should make the world better.

Protect Your Divine Connections

Once you recognize a God-ordained relationship, don't take it for granted.

Honor people.

Keep your word.

Communicate.

Don't exploit their generosity.

Celebrate their victories.

Pray for them.

Correct with love.

Forgive quickly.

Give room for growth.

And never allow jealousy, pride, offense, or competition to destroy something God took time to establish.

Some relationships are too valuable to lose over temporary misunderstandings.

Your Next Level May Be Relational

We often pray for resources, opportunities, miracles, and open doors.

But sometimes God's answer is not a thing.

Sometimes God's answer is a person.

Your next opportunity may come through a connection.

Your next lesson may come through a mentor.

Your next partnership may come through a conversation.

Your next assignment may come through a relationship.

Your next breakthrough may begin with an introduction.

Therefore, ask God for eyes to recognize, wisdom to discern, humility to receive, and grace to maintain the divine connections He brings into your life.

You don't need everybody.

You need the right people.

And when God brings the right people into your life, don't merely celebrate the connection.

Nurture it. Honour it. Serve it. Protect it.

Because sometimes, the relationship God sends today is connected to the destiny you will walk into tomorrow.

Recognizing the Gift Within You

There is something God has placed inside you that cannot be duplicated. Before you had a title, a degree, a career, or even an understanding of your purpose, God had already deposited something in you for His glory and for the blessing of others.

You are not an accident. You are a divine investment.

Every believer carries a measure of God's grace, a unique capacity to serve, create, lead, teach, encourage, build, solve problems, inspire, heal, organize, communicate, or influence others. Your gift may look ordinary to you, but its origin is extraordinary because it came from God.

Paul reminded Timothy:

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you.” — 2 Timothy 1:6

Notice the language: “stir up.” The gift was already there, but it needed to be activated.

This means that having a gift is not the same as using a gift.

A seed contains a tree, but the seed must be planted.

A musical gift must be practiced.

A teaching gift must be developed.

A leadership gift must be exercised.

A prophetic sensitivity must be nurtured through intimacy with God.

A creative gift must be expressed.

A business idea must be developed.

A ministry gift must be deployed.

What God deposits, you must develop.

Many people are frustrated because they are trying to become what God never called them to be. They spend their lives comparing themselves with others, copying other people's journeys, competing for platforms, and pursuing gifts that God never gave them.

But you don't have to become somebody else to become significant.

Your assignment is to discover what God has placed inside you and become the best expression of it.

Your degree may qualify you for a profession, but your gift can distinguish you in that profession.

Your experience may give you competence, but your gift can give you influence.

Your connections may open doors, but your gift can give you something valuable to contribute when you enter those doors.

The world may celebrate your qualifications, but Heaven is interested in what you do with the grace God has entrusted to you.

Don't Compare Your Gift

One of the greatest enemies of recognizing your gift is comparison.

You see someone's large platform and despise your small beginning.

You see someone preaching to thousands and conclude that your ability to encourage one person is insignificant.

You see another person's business succeeding and overlook the idea God has given you.

You see someone singing before crowds and forget that your gift may be in teaching, administration, technology, leadership, writing, creativity, hospitality, or service.

But God does not measure your gift by somebody else's gift.

The hand should not wish it were the eye.

The foot should not wish it were the hand.

Every part has a function.

Your gift may not attract applause, but it can still change lives.

Never Despise Small Beginnings

David had a sling.

Moses had a rod.

Samson had unusual strength.

Bezalel had creative craftsmanship.

Dorcas had a heart for practical service.

The little boy in John 6 had five loaves and two fish.

What looked insignificant became enough when placed in the hands of Jesus.

Never despise what God has placed in your hands.

You may say, “I only know how to teach.”

Teach.

“I only know how to encourage people.”

Encourage.

“I only know technology.”

Use technology for Kingdom advancement.

“I only know how to organize.”

Organize.

“I only have a small business.”

Build it with integrity.

“I can only reach a few people.”

Reach them faithfully.

You don't need to start with thousands.

Start with the one person God has placed in front of you.

Faithfulness with a small assignment often prepares you for a greater one.

Your Gift Must Be Stirred

A gift that is neglected becomes dormant.

Prayer activates sensitivity.

Practice develops excellence.

Study increases capacity.

Obedience creates opportunity.

Service gives the gift expression.

The Holy Spirit may give you the gift, but you have a responsibility to cultivate it.

Don't merely pray, “Lord, use me.”

Ask:

“Lord, what have You already placed inside me?”

What do people consistently come to you for?

What do you do naturally that others find difficult?

What burden repeatedly moves your heart?

What kind of problems do you enjoy solving?

What activities make you lose track of time?

What abilities have others recognized in you?

What has God repeatedly placed in your heart?

These questions can help you recognize the fingerprints of your gift.

Your Gift Is Not Just for You

A gift is called a gift because it is meant to be given.

God did not place that deposit inside you merely for personal achievement. Your gift is connected to other people's lives.

Your teaching can bring understanding.

Your leadership can bring direction.

Your creativity can communicate truth.

Your generosity can meet a need.

Your wisdom can prevent a disaster.

Your encouragement can rescue someone from discouragement.

Your technology skills can expand the reach of the Gospel.

Your business can create employment.

Your influence can open doors for others.

Your gift is part of God's answer to somebody else's prayer.

Someone is waiting for what God has placed inside you.

Therefore, don't bury it.

Don't hide it.

Don't apologize for it.

Don't compare it.

Don't underestimate it.

Discover it. Develop it. Deploy it.

You are carrying something that your generation needs.

There is a Heaven-given deposit within you.

There is grace upon your life.

There is an assignment connected to your existence.

And when you recognize the gift, surrender it to God, develop it with excellence, and use it in obedience, what is inside you can become a blessing far beyond what you imagined.

You are not ordinary.

You carry Heaven's deposit.

Find it. Fan it. Develop it. Release it.

And let your life become evidence of what God can do with a person who discovers and faithfully uses the gift He placed within them.

Prayer

Father, open my eyes to recognize the gift You have placed within me. Deliver me from comparison, fear, insecurity, and mediocrity. Give me the discipline to develop my gift, the courage to use it, and the humility to dedicate it completely to You. Let what You have deposited in me become a blessing to my generation and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
