This is the second part of my teaching on the above topic and I am excited as always to share some more useful information with you from the word of God that will help stabilize your life to the glory of God.
In Part I we looked at the importance of feeding on proper spiritual food, especially in these days where there is an abundant supply of wrong information beckoning to young people via the media, the internet, literature etc. There is however a divine call and invitation from the Lord for you to come and feed at His table. He offers you superior nourishment that will enable you take charge and make a difference in your world.
What Qualifies You To Dine On His Table?
i. You Must Come To Him:
God has invited you to come unto Him, Is.55:1-2. It is your responsibility to honour His invitation and come to the table. He will not feed you by putting the Word in your head or any such thing. You must take the responsibility of doing the reading, the hearing and the meditating on His word as well as relevant materials. It is only after you have done this that the Holy Spirit will begin to inspire you along the lines of what you have read even as you meditate ( think deeply on ) them. Accepting God’s invitation is what gives the Holy Spirit the necessary raw material to work with in your life thereby energizing you to do great things even beyond your age or natural capabilities. Make out time to read and meditate on the word of God. Create time for personal study to feed your spirit fat with heavenly nourishment.
ii. Be Hungry and Thirsty:
He satisfies those who are thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. (Psalms 107:9 (GNB).
As proof that you have accepted God’s invitation to you, there is a need for you to genuinely hunger and thirst for His word. This will be evidenced by your desire to want to learn more and to want to obey His injunctions. You can be rest assured that God will fill you up with every good thing that you desire, if you can only go to Him with a genuine thirst and hunger. Just like in the natural where your thirst and hunger move you to eat and drink, the same thing applies in the realm of the Spirit too. God will only satisfy the longing soul; so go after Him with all seriousness and then you will be fed fat at His table.
iii. Buy The Truth:
Buy the truth, and sell [it] not; [also] wisdom, and instruction, and understanding (Proverbs 23:23).
This refers to being willing to invest in materials that will enrich your life. You need to buy anointed books; tapes etc and attend Bible School, conferences, seminars and so on where you will be fed fat at the Lord’s Table. What you are doing is that you are using your today to procure for yourself an enviable tomorrow when invariably, you will value the knowledge that you gather from all these teaching materials today.
With all these in place, you will feed well and grow spiritually.
Make your spiritual development a matter of priority and focus less on things that do not add to your total well-being as a child of God. The more well nourished you are spiritually, the more robust your entire life will be-spiritual, academics, relationships, career etc
You can however only receive an invitation to the kings’ dinner, if your name is on His master list. It is only those who have given their lives to Jesus that can be sure of dinning with Him. Jesus said: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20).
You give your life to Christ by first confessing your sins, and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. This is what being born again is all about. If you are set for it, please say this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. Wash me clean from my sin and make me a new creature. Thank You Jesus for writing my name in the Book of life. Now, I know that I am born again. Amen!
Congratulations! You are now born again and a child of God.
