It has been proved that scripture based thinking holds the key to the power that sets a people and nation on the paths of freedom. However partial knowledge among custodians of eternal truth is the reason for the backwardness of a people. The church is described in many ways. It is the light of the world. It is the salt of the earth. It is a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. It has in its possession many—sided wisdom. It is both the birth place and meeting point of visionary entities. It is a body made up of many parts. 1 Corinthians 12:26 reveals that, when one member of the body suffer, all the other member suffer with it. If one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it. It is so intriguing to discover the parts that make up the members of the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27-28 reveals in detail the members of this body. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first Apostles, secondarily Prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Did you notice that governments was listed as a gift that makes up the body of Christ, and not only that, God has set it up in the church. The church therefore holds the key to corporate governance. It is to govern diversities of tongues—people from diverse cultures, traditions and fields of study. Only the church holds this key. This revelation came to me in the early hours of the 6th of may 2010, and I knew within me that there is hope for Nigeria. Darkness and gross darkness, which in today’s tongue can be interpreted to mean economic doom, depression or catastrophe is bound to envelop nations, but the bail out will come when light comes. One of the descriptions of the church I earlier gave is that, it is the light of the world. Until the church arise, the world and its people remain victims of darkness. Isaiah 2:2 reveals a vital truth. And it shall come to pass in the last days that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. What is the implication of this revelation? The church and its citizens are not set up to bemoan or criticize situations in their nations, but to do something about it. The church is not to sit down and pay lip service to the politics of the nation. Governance is a part of the church. When it suffers, the church feels the effect. The book of proverbs 29:2 reveals that When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. It is sad to note that the reason nations fall is because governments have been left in the hands of unjust men. Governance is not your portion because you identify with a church, but that the life and wisdom inherent in the kingdom is in you. You must be a true citizen of the kingdom to qualify for governance. As Nigeria gradually moves towards staging another general election, the church need to arise from her slumber. As Christians , we are not called to hold crusades and all—night prayer meetings for the nation alone, but to prepare her citizens for active engagement. The world has been presenting her trained but corrupt politicians and placing them in government. Where are the agents of change born and trained for the kingdom. Daniel along with his three Hebrew friends learnt the art of politics, where fielded and excelled. The kingdom life in them made them outstanding. Such men still abound in the kingdom today. All the other gifts have been established in the church, it is time to establish government in the church. Solomon painted a clear picture of why the church cannot sit down and watch anymore in Ecclesiastes 10:5-7. There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceeded from the ruler. Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth. When the church takes the back seat, it is regarded as an evil. Why train kingdom citizens , only to have them praying for “unrighteous” leaders in government. It is time for the sons and daughters of the kingdom to arise and take their rightful place in government. Enough of having lifeless souls leading nations full of living souls. Christ came on a two fold mission to earth. The first been to die for the sins of mankind and earn the right to ascend the throne in heaven. Secondly, so that kingdom citizens on earth can ascend the throne on the earth. Watch out for the concluding part in June edition. It is explosive and revelation packed!
