Leadership does not begin with people. It rather begins with you as an individual.
Your ability to effectively lead yourself is what eventually translates to your effectiveness at leading other people.
Jesus, our great leadership mentor puts it this way, Luke 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
It all begins with what you do..... Leadership begins with what you do.
Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
So leadership is not necessarily about what others do, but what you do that stimulates a corresponding action.
So if the feedback from people are not encouraging, do not work on the people, rather cross examine the signals you are transmitting.
This is wordspired leadership. Work on yourself if you must generate the right response from those you are sent to.
