COVENANT UNIVERSITY AT 24: THE SEVEN HIDDEN POWERS OF THANKSGIVING

COVENANT UNIVERSITY AT 24: THE SEVEN HIDDEN POWERS OF THANKSGIVING

A Founders’ Day Message by Dr. David Oyedepo

Celebrating 24 Years of Divine Vision, Transformation and Impact

Introduction: This Is the Lord’s Doing!

“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” — Psalm 118:23

As Covenant University celebrates 24 years of existence, our hearts must overflow with thanksgiving to Almighty God. What we are witnessing today is not merely the product of human effort, institutional planning, or administrative expertise. It is a testimony to the faithfulness of God.

We must never lose sight of the hand behind the work. The marvels we celebrate today are evidence of divine involvement. When God is behind a vision, its impact goes beyond what human ability alone can accomplish.

Therefore, we give all the glory to God. This is not our doing; it is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes!

1. Thanksgiving: The Foundation of Our Strength

Psalm 92:1–2 declares that it is good to give thanks to the Lord and sing praises to His name, to proclaim His lovingkindness in the morning and His faithfulness every night.

Thanksgiving is not simply an expression of good manners. It is a spiritual disposition that keeps our hearts connected to God.

A grateful heart recognises that whatever we have accomplished is not by our power alone. Our intelligence, strength, opportunities, relationships and achievements are all reasons to acknowledge the goodness of God.

Proverbs 17:22 tells us that a merry heart does good like medicine, while a broken spirit dries the bones.

When gratitude fills the heart, joy follows. And when we walk in the joy of the Lord, we draw strength to face life's challenges.

A thankful person does not allow circumstances to dictate the condition of the heart.

At 24, Covenant University must continue to recognise God as the source of its strength, progress and enduring influence.

2. Thanksgiving Gives Access to Fresh Oil

Psalm 92:10 declares:

“But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.”

Fresh oil represents renewed strength, fresh grace and the enablement to accomplish new assignments.

Yesterday's achievements cannot replace today's dependence on God. Every new season requires fresh grace, renewed commitment and a heart that continues to honour the One who gives the increase.

Thanksgiving helps us maintain the right posture before God. Rather than becoming consumed by pressure, comparison or the pursuit of recognition, we learn to acknowledge His faithfulness and depend on Him for what lies ahead.

The lesson is clear: never become so familiar with God's blessings that you forget to thank Him for them.

As Covenant University moves into its next season, may its vision remain fresh, its spiritual foundation strong, and its commitment to excellence continually renewed.

3. Thanksgiving Renders Our Enemies Helpless

The Scriptures repeatedly demonstrate that God is able to deliver His people and frustrate the plans of those who oppose His purposes.

Psalm 89:22 speaks of God's protection over His servant:

“The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.”

Thanksgiving strengthens our confidence in God's faithfulness. It reminds us that we are not left to confront every challenge by our own strength.

This does not mean that grateful people will never experience opposition. Rather, gratitude helps us remain anchored in God instead of surrendering to fear, bitterness or despair.

Thanksgiving keeps our attention on God's power rather than the size of the opposition.

Covenant University's story is a testimony of perseverance, faith and commitment to a vision. As the university continues to grow, its community must remain prayerful, united and steadfast.

4. Thanksgiving Causes Believers to Flourish

Psalm 92:12 declares:

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”

The palm tree is a fitting picture of resilience. It stands through changing weather and continues to grow.

In the same way, a life rooted in God must not be defined solely by favourable circumstances.

Habakkuk 3:17–18 presents one of the strongest expressions of this disposition:

“Although the fig tree may not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

This is the strength of a grateful heart: the ability to rejoice in God even when circumstances are not as expected.

Thanksgiving enables us to remain hopeful, steadfast and productive through different seasons.

For Covenant University, flourishing means more than increasing student numbers, expanding facilities or achieving institutional recognition. It also means continually raising people of character, competence, faith and purpose who can contribute meaningfully to society.

5. Thanksgiving Sustains Us Through Crisis

Life will not always unfold according to our expectations. There will be seasons of limited resources, unexpected challenges and moments when the next step is not obvious.

Yet, thanksgiving helps us remember that what appears insufficient today does not define the possibilities of tomorrow.

John 6:6–14 records the feeding of the five thousand. Faced with a great multitude and limited provisions, Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks and distributed them. What seemed inadequate became sufficient to meet the need, with leftovers remaining.

The lesson is not that thanksgiving eliminates every difficulty instantly. Rather, it reminds us to acknowledge God even when resources appear limited and to act faithfully with what is available.

The personal testimony shared in the message reflects this principle: seasons of modest income and significant responsibility can be endured without abandoning faith, gratitude or purpose.

Never allow a season of pressure to erase your memory of God's faithfulness.

We must learn to thank God not only for what has been completed, but also for the strength to continue, the wisdom to make decisions and the grace to remain faithful.

6. Thanksgiving Establishes Believers in the House of God

Psalm 92:13–14 declares that those planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God and continue to bring forth fruit in old age.

There is a difference between visiting a place of purpose and becoming rooted in its values.

To be established means to remain committed, to grow in understanding, to serve faithfully and to contribute to the fulfilment of a shared vision.

For the Covenant University community, this calls for more than identifying with the institution during celebrations. It calls for a lasting commitment to its spiritual foundation, academic standards, culture of service and mission of raising a new generation of leaders.

Gratitude also changes how we view our place within an institution. Instead of focusing only on what we can receive, we become conscious of what we can contribute.

We must thank God for what He has done in our individual lives and for the growth of the entire university community.

A grateful heart values the vision, honours the source and remains committed to the assignment.

7. Thanksgiving Makes Believers Relevant for Life

The final emphasis is the lasting relevance that comes from living a life of gratitude, faith and purposeful service.

True relevance is not merely about titles, public recognition, wealth or temporary influence. It is about making a meaningful contribution that continues to benefit others.

Abraham's life provides a powerful example of faith and worship. His willingness to obey God, even when obedience demanded a great sacrifice, demonstrated his trust in the One who had called him.

The blessings associated with Abraham's faith also remind believers that God's purposes extend beyond one individual to families and generations.

Covenant University's vision similarly reaches beyond the present generation. Its impact is seen in the people it educates, the character it helps to shape, the discoveries its community makes and the leadership its graduates provide in different fields.

The responsibility of every member of the university community is to remain spiritually grounded, committed to excellence and productive in service.

Do not become distracted by temporary recognition. Do not surrender your values in pursuit of success. Continue to develop your abilities, discover solutions and contribute to the advancement of society.

Stay true spiritually. Stay committed to your assignment. Stay productive. Keep growing.

A University Founded on a Divine Vision

Covenant University at 24 is an occasion to remember the vision behind the institution and acknowledge the faithfulness of God throughout its journey.

Its story is not simply about the establishment of another university. It is about the pursuit of an educational vision that seeks to combine spiritual values, academic excellence, character formation and practical relevance.

The ultimate measure of its success is not only what happens within its campus, but also the quality of people it raises and the impact they make wherever they serve.

A university that remains committed to its founding vision can contribute to changing the narrative of Africa by equipping young people to lead with integrity, innovate with purpose and serve with compassion.

The future requires people who are spiritually grounded, intellectually prepared, professionally competent and socially responsible.

That is why thanksgiving must remain central. It reminds us of where the journey began, who has sustained it and why the assignment must continue.

Conclusion: To God Be All the Glory!

As Covenant University celebrates its 24th Founders’ Day, we return to the declaration of Psalm 118:23:

“This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.”

We give thanks for the vision, the sacrifices, the lives transformed, the knowledge imparted, the character developed and the opportunities created.

We give thanks for every student, graduate, lecturer, staff member, parent, partner and supporter who has contributed to the journey.

Above all, we acknowledge Almighty God as the One to whom all glory belongs.

May Covenant University continue to flourish, remain faithful to its vision, and raise generations of leaders who will serve God and humanity with distinction.

May its influence continue to expand, its commitment to excellence remain strong, and its contribution to Africa's transformation become increasingly evident.

Let us raise our voices and say:

Thank You, Jesus!

Thank You for 24 years of faithfulness.

Thank You for the vision.

Thank You for the lives transformed.

Thank You for the future ahead.

To God alone be all the glory!

Amen.

COVENANT UNIVERSITY AT 24: THE MAKING OF A NEW WORLD

COVENANT UNIVERSITY AT 24: THE MAKING OF A NEW WORLD

For me, Covenant University is more than just a university or a citadel of learning. It is a breeding ground for a new world order—a Third World that is steadily emerging to become the top world, destined to rewrite the battered image of this great continent of Africa.

Covenant University represents a bold declaration that Africa’s story can be rewritten, its dignity restored, and its place in global leadership redefined through knowledge, character, innovation, and purposeful leadership.

Its core values are gradually, yet surely, transforming young minds—one student, one soul, one life at a time. Beyond academic excellence, the institution is committed to shaping character, building competence, inspiring vision, and raising a generation of leaders equipped to confront the challenges of their time and influence the destiny of nations.

And then, there is the significance of the number 24.

Numerically, 24 reduces to 6 (2 + 4 = 6). In the biblical creation narrative, the sixth day was the day God made humankind. What a profound symbolism to consider as Covenant University celebrates 24 years of existence!

Indeed, this is a place of the making of man—a place where minds are moulded, character is forged, destinies are shaped, and leaders are prepared for the transformation of society.

As Covenant University celebrates 24 years of solid commitment to providing life-applicable learning and transforming the total person, may its influence continue to transcend the boundaries of the university campus, inspire the African continent, and contribute to the emergence of a new generation capable of rewriting Africa’s story.

Happy 24th Founders’ Day, Covenant University!

May the vision grow stronger, the impact become greater, and the generations transformed become living testimonies of the power of purposeful education.

With goodwill and heartfelt congratulations from the Center for Creative Youth International (CCYI) and CCYI Global Enterprise — AGIS 2026 celebrates grace, transformation, and the making of a new generation.

DAY 21 — SING IN THE SPIRIT

DAY 21 — SING IN THE SPIRIT

Old Testament: 2 Chronicles 20:20–22
New Testament: 1 Corinthians 14:15
Memory Verse: “I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” — 1 Corinthians 14:15

WORDSPIRATION — LET YOUR PRAISE BECOME YOUR WEAPON

There are moments in life when circumstances seem to demand fear, silence, and despair. Yet Scripture reveals a higher response: worship. When Jehoshaphat and Judah faced an overwhelming enemy, they did not allow the size of the opposition to determine the posture of their hearts. They sought God, trusted His word, and went forward with praise. Their worship was not a denial of the battle; it was a declaration that God was greater than the battle. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do in a difficult season is lift your voice and remind your soul that God is still God.

Worship redirects our attention from what is happening around us to the One who reigns above it all. Anxiety says, “Look at the problem.” Faith says, “Look at God.” Fear magnifies the storm, but worship magnifies the Lord. When we sing in the Spirit, we are not merely producing music; we are expressing confidence in God's character, His faithfulness, His mercy, and His promises. Your song can become an altar of faith in the middle of your circumstances.

Paul's instruction in 1 Corinthians 14:15 gives us a beautiful balance: “I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” God desires worship that involves the whole person—our spirit, our mind, our understanding, and our heart. We worship because we know who He is. We praise because His goodness is greater than our present situation. We sing because our hope is not anchored in the changing conditions of this world but in the unchanging Christ.

And this message is for every nation, every people, every tribe, and every individual who is searching for hope. If you have never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, hear this invitation: the greatest song you can ever sing is the song of a heart reconciled to God. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, to forgive the broken, to restore the lost, and to give eternal life to those who believe in Him. No matter how far you may have wandered, God's grace is still calling you home. You do not have to clean yourself up before coming to Christ; come to Him, and let His grace begin its transforming work in you.

Perhaps today you are facing financial pressure, insecurity, grief, rejection, uncertainty about the future, family struggles, political instability, hunger, persecution, or a battle that nobody else knows about. Do not allow your circumstances to silence your worship. Your tears can become prayer. Your prayer can become praise. And your praise can become an expression of faith. Like Judah, lift your eyes beyond the enemy and behold the God who fights for His people. The night may be long, but God remains faithful. Sing again. Pray again. Trust again. Hope again.

Let worship fill your home, your workplace, your church, your school, your community, and your nation. Let your life become a testimony that says, “God is worthy even here.” We do not worship only when everything is working; we worship because God is worthy in every season. May the Holy Spirit awaken a fresh song in the hearts of people across the earth, turning hearts from fear to faith, from darkness to light, and from self-reliance to complete dependence upon Jesus Christ.

DAY 20 — WAIT UNTIL THE WATERS RECEDE

DAY 20 — WAIT UNTIL THE WATERS RECEDE

Old Testament: Genesis 8:1–12
New Testament: James 1:2–4
Memory Verse: “And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month…” — Genesis 8:5

WORDSPIRATION — WHEN GOD SAYS, “WAIT”

There are seasons in life when the greatest expression of faith is not moving forward, but waiting on God. Noah had obeyed God, built the ark, entered it, and survived the flood, yet after the rain stopped, he still had to wait. The waters did not disappear overnight. The ground did not become dry immediately. Noah had no timetable from God telling him exactly when the waiting would end. He simply had to trust the One who had brought him through the storm. Sometimes, God’s silence is not abandonment; it is an invitation to trust His process.

Genesis 8:1 says, “And God remembered Noah.” What a powerful assurance! Noah was surrounded by waters, but he was not forgotten. He was in a place where he could not see the future clearly, yet God was already working behind the scenes. Perhaps you are in a similar season today. You have prayed, believed, worked, waited and wondered, “When will things change?” The message of Noah is this: God has not forgotten you. The fact that the waters are still around you does not mean God has abandoned you.

There is also a lesson in the gradual decrease of the waters. God sometimes works progressively rather than suddenly. The Bible says the waters decreased continually. That means progress was happening even when Noah was still surrounded by evidence of the flood. Never despise gradual progress. A door that is slowly opening is still a door. A healing process that is taking time is still a process. A nation slowly recovering from crisis is still moving toward restoration. A person taking one step toward Christ is already moving away from darkness. Do not abandon what God is developing simply because the evidence of completion has not yet appeared.

James 1:2–4 teaches us that the testing of our faith produces patience, and that patience must be allowed to complete its work. Waiting can develop something in us that immediate answers cannot. It teaches endurance, discernment, humility and deeper dependence upon God. Some prayers are not only changing our circumstances; they are changing us. Before God brings Noah out of the ark, He develops Noah's ability to trust Him beyond what he can see. Perhaps your waiting season is preparing you for the responsibility attached to the answer you have been praying for.

And there is a greater message for humanity: the greatest rescue is found in Jesus Christ. Noah's ark became a picture of God's provision of salvation in the midst of judgment. Today, God is still calling people from every nation, tribe, language and generation to find refuge in Christ. The world may be experiencing uncertainty, conflict, hunger, fear, injustice and disappointment, but there is still an open invitation through Jesus. He is our refuge, our peace and our hope. If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, do not wait until everything around you becomes perfect. Come to Him today. Salvation is not earned by human effort; it is received by faith in Jesus Christ.

So, beloved, wait until the waters recede. Do not make permanent decisions because of temporary storms. Do not throw away your faith because the answer is taking longer than expected. Do not mistake delay for denial. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep obeying. Keep your heart anchored in Christ. The same God who remembered Noah is still faithful today. The waters will not remain forever. Dry ground will appear. And when God says it is time to step out, you will discover that the waiting was not wasted—it was preparation for a new beginning.

PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, teach me to wait upon You without losing faith. When I cannot see the way forward, help me trust Your wisdom. Give me patience when answers seem delayed, courage when circumstances are difficult, and discernment to recognize the signs of progress. Heal every wounded heart, restore those who have lost hope, and draw those who are far from You into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Let Your light shine into every nation and every troubled heart. May those who are waiting receive strength, and may every storm eventually give way to testimony, restoration and a new beginning. In Jesus' name, Amen.

DAY 19 — LIGHT FOR YOUR PATH

DAY 19 — LIGHT FOR YOUR PATH

Old Testament: Psalm 119:105–112
New Testament: 2 Peter 1:19–21
Memory Verse: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105

WORDSPIRATION

There are seasons in life when we desperately want God to show us the entire road ahead. We want to know what tomorrow will bring, how every problem will be solved, where the next opportunity will come from, and how our dreams will eventually unfold.

Yet Psalm 119:105 reveals something profound: God does not always give us a floodlight for the entire journey; He gives us a lamp for the next step. His Word provides enough light to keep moving with confidence, even when the destination is not yet completely visible.

A lamp illuminates our feet, reminding us that divine guidance is often progressive. God may not reveal everything at once because He desires us to walk by faith and not by sight. Sometimes the next step is forgiveness.

Sometimes it is obedience. Sometimes it is waiting. Sometimes it is leaving something behind. Sometimes it is beginning again. Whatever that step may be, God's Word provides the light we need to take it. You do not need to understand everything before you obey God.

In a world filled with conflicting voices, opinions, fears, philosophies and distractions, the Word of God remains an unchanging standard. Peter reminds us that Scripture did not originate merely from human imagination, but that holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, when the Word corrects us, we should listen. When it warns us, we should pay attention. When it encourages us, we should receive it. And when it calls us to Christ, we should respond. The voice of God will never lead us away from the character and truth revealed in His Word.

Perhaps you are presently standing at a crossroads. You may be uncertain about your future, your family, your career, your finances, your nation or even your relationship with God. You may feel as though darkness surrounds you. But darkness does not mean God has abandoned you. The presence of God's Word means there is still light available for your journey. Open the Scriptures. Pray. Listen. Obey the light you have received, and trust God for the light you have not yet received.

And beyond our personal journeys, this light is desperately needed across our world. Nations need leaders who will walk in truth rather than corruption; families need wisdom rather than confusion; young people need hope rather than despair; communities need peace rather than violence; and those who have never encountered Christ need to discover that Jesus is not merely a religious figure but the Light of the world and the Saviour of humanity. May the light of God's Word lead hearts everywhere to repentance, faith, righteousness and salvation through Jesus Christ.

If you have wandered away from God, there is still a way home. If sin has covered your life with darkness, Christ offers forgiveness. If fear has controlled your heart, Christ offers peace. If you have lost your direction, His Word can illuminate your path. Come to Jesus. Trust Him. Surrender your life to Him. The One who gives light to the path is also the One who gave His life to save the world.

Give government officials wisdom to address these issues effectively. Protect innocent citizens, strengthen families and provide opportunities for young people.

DAY 18 — FAITH THAT OVERCOMES

DAY 18 — FAITH THAT OVERCOMES

Old Testament: 1 Samuel 17:45–47
New Testament: 1 John 5:4–5
Memory Verse: “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” — 1 John 5:4 (KJV)

WORDSPIRATION

David stood before Goliath with no human advantage. The giant was bigger, stronger, better equipped and more experienced for battle. Yet David saw something Goliath could not see: the greatness of the God who stood with him. David did not deny the existence of the giant; he simply refused to make the giant greater than God. That is the essence of overcoming faith. Faith does not mean that challenges are absent. It means that God remains greater than whatever challenge stands before us.

There are people today who feel surrounded by giants—giants of fear, failure, poverty, rejection, uncertainty, addiction, disappointment, injustice, sickness, family struggles and hopelessness. There are nations facing their own giants: insecurity, hunger, corruption, unemployment, violence, economic hardship, displacement and uncertainty about the future. Yet the message of Scripture remains unchanged: whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. Your circumstances may speak loudly, but God's Word speaks with greater authority. Your past may remind you of failure, but God's grace speaks of redemption. Your fears may tell you that there is no way forward, but faith declares that God can make a way where there seems to be none.

Faith, however, is more than positive thinking. Biblical faith is confidence in the character, power and promises of God. It begins when we hear His Word, continues when we trust His Word, and becomes visible when we obey His Word. David had confidence because he remembered what God had already done. The God who delivered him from the lion and the bear would not abandon him before Goliath. In the same way, you can look back at the moments God carried you, preserved you, opened doors for you and brought you through situations you thought would destroy you. Your history with God can become fuel for your faith in the present.

But there is an even greater victory than overcoming circumstances: the victory of salvation through Jesus Christ. The greatest giant confronting humanity is not poverty, politics, sickness or insecurity—it is sin, because sin separates humanity from God. No human strength, achievement, wealth or religion can save the soul. But Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. Through His death and resurrection, He offers forgiveness, reconciliation with God and eternal life to everyone who believes in Him. The invitation of grace is not limited by nationality, race, language, social status or past failure. Whether you are in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia or anywhere across the islands and nations of the earth, the door of salvation is open through Jesus Christ.

Perhaps you have been running from God because of your past. Perhaps you believe you have gone too far to be forgiven. Perhaps you are successful outwardly but empty inwardly. Perhaps you have tried many solutions but your soul is still searching for peace. Today, hear the good news: Jesus Christ is still calling. His grace is sufficient. His blood cleanses. His mercy restores. His presence gives hope. You do not have to conquer life before coming to Christ; come to Christ, and allow Him to begin transforming your life. The same faith that enables the believer to overcome the world begins with trusting the One who overcame the world for us.

Therefore, child of God, do not surrender to fear. Stand upon God's Word. Pray when others panic. Believe when circumstances discourage you. Love when hatred surrounds you. Remain truthful when dishonesty appears easier. Keep your hope alive when the world tells you to give up. Your victory is not based on the absence of battles but on the presence of God in the battle. Like David, lift your eyes beyond the giant and behold your God. The battle may be real, but God is greater. The storm may be fierce, but Jesus is Lord. The world may be troubled, but faith still overcomes.

DAY 17 — EVERY PART MUST SUPPLY

DAY 17 — EVERY PART MUST SUPPLY

Old Testament: Nehemiah 4:6
New Testament: Ephesians 4:15–16
Memory Verse: “From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth…” — Ephesians 4:16

WORDSPIRATION — EVERY PART MUST SUPPLY

God never designed His Kingdom to depend on one person. He designed His Body so that every part has a place, every believer has a purpose, and every gift has a contribution to make. Nehemiah 4:6 tells us that the wall of Jerusalem was rebuilt because “the people had a mind to work.” The restoration of the city became possible when ordinary people accepted responsibility for their portion. What they did may have looked small individually, but together their obedience produced something significant. Your contribution may be small in your eyes, but in God's hands, it can become part of a greater testimony.

There are people who have stopped contributing because they believe they are not gifted enough, educated enough, wealthy enough, influential enough, or spiritually important enough. But the Kingdom of God does not operate by comparison. You were not created to be somebody else; you were created to faithfully supply your part. The hand should not try to become the eye, and the eye should not despise the hand. Ephesians 4 teaches us that the Body grows when every part does its work. Your encouragement may strengthen someone who is discouraged. Your prayer may sustain someone who is struggling. Your generosity may provide a door for someone else. Your knowledge may educate a generation. Your testimony may lead a broken soul back to Christ.

Perhaps you have been waiting for a great opportunity before you begin to serve God. But sometimes, God is looking for faithfulness in the opportunity already in your hands. Start where you are. Serve with what you have. Give what you can. Speak the truth. Show kindness. Teach someone. Build something useful. Feed someone who is hungry. Encourage the discouraged. Share the Gospel. Pray for your nation. Stand for righteousness. Do not underestimate the power of one obedient life. A single stone may not look like a wall, but stone after stone, faithfully positioned, becomes a structure.

And this principle extends beyond the Church. Nations are strengthened when citizens understand that they have a responsibility to contribute rather than merely complain. Families become stronger when every member contributes. Communities become healthier when people take responsibility for one another. Churches become stronger when believers stop being spectators and become servants. Nations can experience transformation when people with integrity, wisdom, creativity, compassion and courage decide to supply their part. We should therefore ask not only, “What is my country doing for me?” but also, “What has God placed in my hands that can become a blessing to my generation?”

Most importantly, there is one contribution that every person must make personally: your response to Jesus Christ. Human effort cannot save the human soul. Education, wealth, morality, religious activity and social achievement cannot replace the saving grace of God. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory, but God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus Christ to redeem us. Jesus is calling every nation, every tribe, every generation and every individual to Himself. If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, today can become your beginning. Come to Jesus—not because you have perfected yourself, but because His grace is sufficient to save, restore and transform you. And if you already belong to Christ, do not keep His grace to yourself; become a vessel through which someone else can encounter His love.

The world is waiting for believers who will arise and supply their part. Nigeria needs them. Ghana needs them. The Philippines needs them. France needs them. Mexico needs them. Peru needs them. Australia needs them. Every nation needs men and women who will allow Christ to work through their lives. May God awaken dormant gifts, restore discouraged hearts, raise responsible leaders, strengthen families and mobilize His Church. May our lives become living stones in the hands of the Master Builder.

You may not be able to do everything, but you can do your part.
Do not wait for someone else.
Do not despise your gift.
Do not bury your assignment.
Do not allow comparison to silence your calling.

Rise. Serve. Give. Build. Pray. Love. Preach Christ. Supply your part.

DAY 16 — WALK IN THE FEAR OF THE LORD

DAY 16 — WALK IN THE FEAR OF THE LORD

Old Testament: Proverbs 9:10
New Testament: Acts 9:31
Memory Verse: Acts 9:31

WORDSPIRATION — WALK IN THE FEAR OF THE LORD

The fear of the Lord is not the fear that makes us run away from God; it is the reverence that draws us closer to Him. It is a deep recognition that God is holy, sovereign, righteous and worthy of our complete obedience. Proverbs 9:10 declares that “the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.” When we truly honour God, we begin to see life from His perspective. His Word becomes our standard, His presence becomes our confidence, and His will becomes more important than our personal convenience.

In a world where many voices compete for our attention, the fear of the Lord gives us a divine compass. It teaches us to ask not merely, “Can I do this?” but, “Does this honour God?” It challenges us to examine our motives, our relationships, our businesses, our leadership, our conversations and even the things we do when nobody is watching. True reverence for God reaches beyond the church building. It enters the office, classroom, marketplace, family, government, internet and secret places of our lives. A person who fears God may not be perfect, but they continually desire to walk in truth, repentance, righteousness and obedience.

Acts 9:31 reveals something powerful: “Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.” Notice the connection: the fear of the Lord, the comfort of the Holy Spirit and spiritual growth. Reverence for God does not produce a miserable life; it creates an environment where the Spirit of God can work deeply within us. When a generation learns to honour God again, families can be strengthened, communities can experience integrity, leaders can remember that authority is a trust, and young people can discover that their lives have a divine purpose.

The fear of the Lord is also a call back to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Humanity's greatest need is not merely better economies, stronger institutions or improved technology; our deepest need is reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ. Sin separates humanity from God, but Christ came to save, redeem and restore. Whoever calls upon Him can receive forgiveness, new life and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, wherever you are today—whether in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia/Oceania or any island nation of the Pacific—Jesus Christ is calling humanity back to the Father. His grace is available, His mercy is still speaking, and the door of salvation is open.

Perhaps you have been far from God. Perhaps you have known about Christianity but never surrendered your life to Christ. Perhaps you once walked closely with Him but gradually drifted away. Today is an invitation to return. Do not allow shame, disappointment, sin or your past to convince you that you are beyond God's reach. The fear of the Lord begins when we recognize who He is, but the journey continues when we respond to His love through Jesus Christ. Surrender your heart to Him. Let His Word correct you, His Spirit transform you and His grace establish you. May our generation become a people who do not merely talk about God but walk with God.

When the fear of the Lord returns to our hearts, integrity can return to our homes, honesty can return to our dealings, justice can return to our institutions, compassion can return to our communities and hope can return to nations. May God raise men and women who will choose righteousness even when compromise appears profitable. May leaders remember that every position of influence is ultimately accountable to God. May parents model godliness before their children. May young people discover that holiness is not a limitation but a pathway into God's purpose. May we become a shining generation whose private lives agree with our public confession of faith.

PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me a heart that truly fears and honours You. Deliver me from careless living, secret compromise, pride and disobedience. Let Your wisdom govern my decisions. May my private life and public life bring glory to Your name. Let the Holy Spirit comfort, convict, teach and transform me. Draw millions of people across the nations into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Let families, churches, communities and nations experience the transforming power of Your presence. In Jesus' name, Amen.

KINGDOM ADVANCEMENT PRAYER 🌍

🇳🇬 NIGERIA — 2027 ELECTIONS, PEACE AND PROVISION

Father, let the fear of the Lord rest upon Nigeria. As the nation moves toward the 2027 elections, raise leaders and citizens who value truth, justice, peace and the common good. Let the electoral process be peaceful, transparent and orderly. Restrain violence, manipulation, intimidation and every action capable of bringing unnecessary bloodshed.

Lord, intervene in the challenge of insecurity, kidnapping, terrorism, communal conflict and violent crime. Protect communities, farmers, children, students, workers and families. Give wisdom to those entrusted with national and local security, and strengthen legitimate efforts to protect lives and property.

Father, remember Nigerians facing hunger, poverty, unemployment and economic hardship. Provide food for families and opportunities for young people. Give wisdom to policymakers and those responsible for economic management. Let businesses flourish, productive industries grow and honest work become increasingly fruitful.

Above all, let there be a spiritual awakening in Nigeria. Let the fear of the Lord return to homes, schools, churches, businesses and places of leadership. DAY 15 — ALL THINGS FOR EDIFICATION

DAY 15 — ALL THINGS FOR EDIFICATION

Old Testament: Nehemiah 2:17–20
New Testament: 1 Corinthians 14:26
Memory Verse: “Let all things be done unto edifying.” — 1 Corinthians 14:26

WORDSPIRATION — BECOME A BUILDER

There comes a time when God opens our eyes to see what is broken—not so that we can criticize it, complain about it, or blame those who came before us, but so that we can become part of the solution. Nehemiah saw the broken walls of Jerusalem, but he did not merely describe the ruins; he arose to rebuild. In the same way, God is calling His people in this generation to move from observation to participation, from criticism to construction, and from complaining about darkness to becoming light. What broken thing has God placed before you today? Perhaps it is a broken family, a wounded relationship, a struggling church, a failing institution, a discouraged young person, or a community in need. Ask God, “Lord, what can I do to rebuild?”

The apostle Paul gives us a powerful principle in 1 Corinthians 14:26: “Let all things be done unto edifying.” This means that our spiritual gifts, words, knowledge, resources, influence and opportunities should ultimately contribute to the strengthening of others. The gifts of God are not trophies to display; they are tools to build people. Your gift is not merely for your recognition—it is a divine resource entrusted to you for the advancement of God's purposes. If you can teach, teach to build. If you can lead, lead to build. If you can encourage, encourage to build. If you can create, create to build. If you can give, give to build. If you can pray, pray to build. Whatever God has placed in your hands can become an instrument of restoration.

There is also a warning here for the believer. It is possible to become so skilled at identifying problems that we forget our responsibility to provide solutions. It is easy to point at what is wrong with the church, the nation, society, leadership, education, families and young people. But heaven is not looking merely for people who can identify broken walls. God is looking for Nehemiahs who will pick up the tools and rebuild. The world does not need more voices that only tear down; it needs people whose lives demonstrate the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Let your words heal rather than wound. Let your knowledge illuminate rather than intimidate. Let your influence lift rather than suppress. Let your presence leave people stronger than you met them.

And this call to edification ultimately points us to Jesus Christ, the greatest Builder and Restorer. Sin has broken humanity's fellowship with God, but Jesus came to restore what was lost. He came to seek and save the lost, to heal the brokenhearted, to reconcile humanity to God and to give eternal life to everyone who believes in Him. No matter how broken a person's past may be, there is saving grace in Jesus Christ. No matter how far someone may have wandered, the door of mercy is still open. Salvation is not earned by human achievement; it is received through faith in Jesus Christ. Today, if you have never surrendered your life to Him, or if you have wandered away from Him, hear this invitation: come home to Jesus. He is able to forgive, restore, transform and give you a new beginning.

The world desperately needs people who have encountered Christ and are willing to become builders. Build your home. Build your church. Build your community. Build the next generation. Build peace. Build truth. Build hope. Build systems that serve people. Build bridges where division exists. Build opportunities for the poor and vulnerable. Build lives through the Gospel. And when God gives you influence, do not use it merely to make yourself known—use it to make Christ known. May your life become a construction site of grace, where broken hearts find hope, discouraged people find strength, and those who are far from God encounter the love of Jesus Christ.

Today, make a decision: I will not merely complain about what is broken. By the grace of God, I will become part of the rebuilding. My gifts will edify. My words will strengthen. My hands will serve. My influence will restore. My life will point people to Jesus Christ.

🙏 KINGDOM ADVANCEMENT PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask that Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our nations as it is in heaven. Raise builders in every continent—men and women who will use their gifts, influence, knowledge and resources for the strengthening of families, churches, communities and nations. Let the Church become an instrument of healing, restoration, truth and righteousness.

🇳🇬 Nigeria — Rebuilding a Nation

Lord, we commit Nigeria into Your hands. As the nation moves toward the 2027 general elections, let there be peace, justice, credible processes and responsible participation. Preserve the nation from violence, manipulation, division and bloodshed. Raise leaders who will pursue justice, integrity, service and the common good.

Father, intervene in the challenges of insecurity, terrorism, kidnapping, communal violence, unemployment, poverty and hunger. Strengthen families affected by violence and displacement. Provide for those struggling to feed their households. Give wisdom to those responsible for security and governance, and let institutions that serve Nigerians be strengthened rather than weakened.

Lord, help Nigeria rebuild—its economy, education system, healthcare, infrastructure, institutions, families and communities. Give Nigerian young people opportunities to develop their gifts and contribute meaningfully to society. Let the Church rise as a builder of lives and not merely a commentator on national problems.

Nigeria shall not be abandoned to destruction. Let righteousness, peace, wisdom and responsible leadership increase across the nation. In every sphere, raise builders for the next generation. In Jesus' name, Amen.

🌍 Africa — South Africa

Father, we pray for South Africa. Bring healing to communities affected by poverty, inequality, crime and social division. Let churches and Christian communities become instruments of reconciliation, compassion and hope.

Let Christians and churches serve their communities faithfully and proclaim the hope of Jesus Christ with love, humility and courage.

🇩🇪 Europe — Germany

Father, we pray for Germany and Europe. Strengthen families, communities and institutions. Give wisdom in responding to economic pressures, migration challenges, social divisions and the needs of vulnerable people. Let the Church bring hope, truth and compassion, and may many encounter the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

🇺🇸 North America — United States

Lord, we pray for the United States of America. Bring healing where there is division, strength to families under pressure, wisdom to leaders and compassion toward the vulnerable. Let communities discover constructive paths toward peace and mutual understanding. May the Gospel continue to reach hearts and transform lives.

🇦🇷 South America — Argentina

Father, we pray for Argentina. Give wisdom and courage to those working to address economic hardship, poverty and social challenges. Strengthen families and communities. Let hope rise again among those who are discouraged, and let the Church become a source of practical help, reconciliation and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

🇦🇺 Oceania — Australia

Lord, we pray for Australia. Strengthen families and communities, protect the vulnerable and give wisdom to those serving the nation. Where there are divisions, bring reconciliation; where there is hardship, provide help; and where people are searching for meaning, let them encounter the truth and saving grace of Jesus Christ.

🔥 KINGDOM DECLARATION

Father, make me a builder.
Make Your Church a builder.
Make our generation a builder.
Where there is brokenness, give us grace to restore.
Where there is darkness, make us light.
Where there is hunger, make us compassionate.
Where there is division, make us instruments of peace.
Where there is despair, make us carriers of hope.
Where there is sin, let the Gospel of Jesus Christ bring salvation.

May our gifts edify.
May our words heal.
May our hands serve.
May our resources bless.
May our influence advance Your Kingdom.
And may our nations experience restoration by Your mercy.

In Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen.

📖 Today's Charge

Don't just identify the broken wall. Pick up your tools and build.
Don't just complain about the darkness. Carry the Light.
Don't just talk about Jesus. Let your life point people to Jesus.

DAY 14 — EQUIPPED TO SERVE

DAY 14 — EQUIPPED TO SERVE

Old Testament: Exodus 31:1–6
New Testament: Ephesians 4:11–13
Memory Verse: “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:12

🌍 WORDSPIRATION — EQUIPPED TO SERVE

God does not save us merely to occupy space; He saves us to become instruments in His hands. Every person created by God carries a measure of potential, capacity and purpose. In Exodus 31, God filled Bezalel with His Spirit and gave him wisdom, understanding, knowledge and skill for craftsmanship. This is remarkable because it reminds us that the Holy Spirit is interested not only in what happens behind a pulpit, but also in what happens in our workplaces, schools, businesses, laboratories, creative spaces and communities. Your skill can become a platform for God's glory when surrendered to Him.

There are people all over the world who have gifts but have not yet discovered their purpose. Some are gifted in technology, medicine, education, agriculture, leadership, communication, arts, business, engineering, creativity or administration. Others carry gifts of compassion, encouragement, teaching and service. Yet gifts become truly powerful when they are developed and placed at the service of God and humanity. A gift that is never developed may remain potential, but a gift surrendered to God can become an instrument of transformation.

Ephesians 4 teaches that Christ gives different ministry gifts to equip His people for the work of ministry. Notice the emphasis: equipping people for service. Ministry is not simply a title, position, microphone or platform. Ministry is the willingness to become useful in God's hands. Sometimes ministry looks like preaching; sometimes it looks like teaching a child, designing a solution, feeding the hungry, caring for the vulnerable, building a business that creates employment, developing technology that solves problems, serving a community or simply showing Christ's love to someone who has lost hope.

Perhaps you have been asking, “What can God do with someone like me?” The answer is: more than you can imagine when your life is yielded to Him. Do not despise your beginning. Do not compare your journey with another person's journey. Ask God to sharpen your abilities, strengthen your character, increase your wisdom and open doors where your gifts can become a blessing. God does not need you to become someone else; He wants to empower you to become the person He created you to be.

And above every gift, achievement and earthly accomplishment is the greatest calling: to know Jesus Christ and make Him known. The world does not merely need more talented people; it needs people whose talents are governed by truth, love, righteousness and the fear of God. If you have achieved much but have not surrendered your life to Christ, today is an invitation to come to Him. Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world. His grace is available to every nation, tribe, language and generation. Come to Him, receive His forgiveness, surrender your life to Him, and allow His Spirit to transform your gifts into instruments of service.

Your hands can build.
Your mind can create.
Your voice can encourage.
Your knowledge can educate.
Your business can employ.
Your compassion can restore hope.
Your technology can solve problems.
But when all these are surrendered to Christ, your life can become a vessel through which God's kingdom touches the world.

Today, therefore, do not merely pray, “Lord, bless me.” Pray also, “Lord, equip me, refine me and use me.” May God raise a generation that is spiritually alive, professionally excellent, morally upright and passionately committed to serving humanity. May our gifts become bridges through which people encounter the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ.

DAY 13 — WORDS THAT BUILD

DAY 13 — WORDS THAT BUILD

OT: Proverbs 18:20–21
NT: Ephesians 4:29
Memory Verse: Ephesians 4:29

WORDSPIRATION — WORDS THAT BUILD

Words are powerful. They can become bridges or barriers, medicine or poison, seeds of hope or instruments of destruction. Every day, we release words into the lives of people around us, and those words can remain in someone's heart long after the conversation has ended. Proverbs reminds us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. This means that our speech is not insignificant before God. What comes out of our mouths should reflect the One who lives within us.

The Apostle Paul gives believers a clear instruction in Ephesians 4:29: we must refuse corrupt communication and allow our words to become channels of grace. Christianity is not merely about what we believe privately; it must transform how we speak publicly. A person who has encountered Jesus should increasingly become a person whose words heal, encourage, correct with love, restore hope and point people toward God. Our vocabulary should carry the fragrance of Christ.

Sometimes the greatest ministry we can give someone is a word spoken at the right moment. Someone may be silently battling discouragement, rejection, failure, loneliness, financial pressure or fear, and one gracious word can remind them that their story is not over. Conversely, careless words can deepen wounds that we cannot see. This is why spiritual maturity includes learning not only what to say, but when, how and why to say it. Not everything that is true needs to be communicated harshly, and not every disagreement needs to become an argument.

There is also a world desperately in need of words that point people back to Jesus Christ. In an age filled with anger, insults, misinformation, hatred and division, believers are called to sound different. We are not called to participate in the destruction of people with our tongues. We are called to speak truth with love, proclaim the Gospel with compassion, defend righteousness without hatred, and tell the broken that there is hope in Christ. The world does not merely need louder voices; it needs voices carrying the character of Jesus.

Perhaps someone reading this today has been wounded by words. Someone may have been told, “You will never amount to anything.” Someone may have been rejected, mocked, condemned or made to believe that God has abandoned them. Hear this today: Jesus Christ still saves, restores and gives new beginnings. Your past does not have to become your permanent identity. The grace of God reaches people in every nation, every culture and every circumstance. Christ came into the world to save sinners, restore the brokenhearted and reconcile humanity to God.

Therefore, before you speak today, ask yourself: Will these words build or break? Will they heal or wound? Will they draw someone closer to God or push them further away? Let your mouth become an altar from which encouragement, truth, wisdom, prayer and praise continually rise. May your home hear words of blessing. May your workplace hear words of integrity. May your community hear words of peace. May the internet and social media hear words seasoned with grace. And may people who encounter you encounter something of the love of Jesus Christ.

Today, surrender your tongue to the Holy Spirit. Let God cleanse your conversations, your reactions, your social-media responses, your private discussions and even the words you speak when you are angry. Your mouth can become a missionary field. Every word can become a seed. Ask God to help you plant seeds that produce life.

PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, make my mouth an instrument of Your grace. Purify my heart so that my words will reflect what You are doing within me. Deliver me from anger, gossip, insults, bitterness, careless criticism and destructive speech. Give me wisdom to know when to speak, what to say and when to remain silent.

Lord Jesus, let my words carry hope to the discouraged, healing to the wounded, wisdom to the confused and salvation to those who do not yet know You. Use my conversations to reveal Your love. Let someone encounter Your grace because of something I say today.

Holy Spirit, teach me to speak truth without hatred, correction without condemnation, conviction without cruelty and encouragement without flattery. May my life and my words point people to Jesus Christ. Amen.
