Every nation or country always deserves the leadership they get.

Positional leaders or government are a product of the kind of people that make up that society.

When people fail at their personal leadership responsibilities, there is no way they can excel at positional leadership.

To therefore enthrone the right people in government therefore demands a righteous tongue, a heart void of offence and a willingness to serve.

As Christians, we excel in leadership when we embrace the teachings of Jesus on what it takes to be a worthy leader. His teaching helps us to know that leadership is all about serving the interest of Gods kingdom on the earth.

To serve God effectively requires that we love people and protect lives. "No cattle's life can be compared to the blood of a human life". To therefore jeopardize human life at the expense of " animals" reveals the failure inherent in our personal leadership DNA.

Before the PVC can elect good leaders, voters must get it right in their heart.

THE TONGUE, THE HEART AND YOUR PVC Part 1

One of the most powerful tool God has given to mankind is the ability to create sounds.

Words are powerful when wielded. The tongue is very small but has the power to set a city on fire.

The coming of social media platforms like Facebook, twitter, WhatsApp etc has suddenly made it possible for people to express themselves without thinking.

It is not enough to say things, it is wisdom to think before saying anything. Words can bless, and as well it can curse.

Fools care nothing for thoughtful discourse; all they do is run off at the mouth. Proverbs 18:2 MSG

So many people have lost a lot, by just paying attention to false news that now saturates the air space. People would rather buy lies than to invest in the truth.

Peoples ears today crave for false news about everything. To pride in the truth these days is to appear like one from the stone age. What a shame.

Politicians use false promises to confuse voters, and voters whose conscience is tied to their belly fall flat for those lies.

For instance, when the prophets strictly warned people about an islamization agenda before the last election, the same people crying fowl today pride themselves with the empty promises sold to them by politicians who had next to no idea what they were going to do in government.

Another election is on the way, and all we hear is, "get your PVC" as though the PVC would on it's own decide the right candidate.

What is needed now is a national rebirth, we need to revisit our values and teach electorates the principles of integrity, which begins with speaking the truth, first to ourselves and by extension, to our neighbours.

Words shape who we are, and who we are would drive us into fulfilling the dominion mandate, which is to give form to the earth.

To all Nigerians desiring to experience true change, recondition your mind to speak and stand for the truth before deciding to go for PVC. PVC in itself is useless when the heart is ruled by falsehood.

"Fools are undone by their big mouths; their souls are crushed by their words. Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you really want junk like that in your belly?" Proverbs 18:7-8

It is time to speak the truth from the heart if we are serious about good leadership in African Nations.

REDISCOVERING YOURSELF

In preparing for a glorious future, there is always a need to make clear your purpose. 

Knowing who you are and what you were designed to do is key to knowing your destination. 

Purpose would always coincide with natural talents and abilities

The purpose of a thing, which is revealed in its design and nature, is always accompanied by certain innate abilities. They are there naturally. 

Purpose never requires something that natural abilities do not provide for. 

God never requires anything of his creatures that he didn't already built into them

You are custom built to fulfill a particular purpose on the earth. 

You have all it takes by design to be who you are created to be

God puts into everything the potential and the nature for its purpose. Purpose, therefore, is accompanied by natural abilities. You are naturally like what you are supposed to do. 

If he did not build it into you, he would not ask you to do it, because purpose is always accompanied by the innate qualities and characteristics it requires. 

You have what you need to be who you are meant to be. 

What you love and desire to do naturally is usually what you were born to do. 

Purpose allows you to be yourself. The discovery of purpose is the discovery of you. 

Jesus said, "I am only quoting your inspired Scriptures, where God said, 'I tell you - you are 'gods'. If God called your ancestors 'gods' - and scriptures doesn't lie - why do you yell, Blasphemer! Blasphemer!!' at the unique one the father consecrated and sent into the world, just because I said, 'I am the son of God'? If I don't do the things my father does, well and good; don't believe me. But if I am doing them, put aside for a moment what you hear me say about myself and just take evidence of the actions that are right before your eyes. Then perhaps things will come together for you, and you'll see that not only are we doing the same thing, we are the same - Father and Son. He is in me; I am in him." John 10:33-38 MSG

So what you are custom made to do is proof of who you are and also gives a clue of where you are from.

GOAL SETTING PART 3

Setting goals is no doubt a non negotiable requirement for success. 

To make your goals effective, the following are necessary: 

#1. EVALUATE AND REFLECT

The purpose of evaluation is two fold. 

- First, it gives you an objective way to look at your accomplishment and your pursuit of the vision you have for life. 

- Secondly, it shows you where you are so you can determine where you need to go. 

Evaluation gives you a baseline to work from. 

#2. DEFINE YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS

Dreams are pictures that get developed from your desires. 

- They may live right on the surface, or they may be buried deep in your subconscious. 

- To make the most of your dream, take time to be quiet. We live in a very lousy and busy generation. 

We rush, rush and we're constantly listening to noise all around us. 

- The human heart was meant for times of quiet - to peer deep within. 

It is when we do this that our hearts are set free to soar and take flight on the wings of our dreams. 

Schedule some quiet "dream time" every week if you can

No other people

No cell phones

No laptops

Just you, you Bible, a pad, notebook, pen and your thoughts. 

Think about what really thrills you.

When you are quiet, think about those things that really get your blood moving. 

What would you love to do, either for fun or for a living?

What would you love to accomplish?

What would you try if you were guaranteed to succeed?

What big thoughts move your heart into a state of excitement and joy.

Write down all your dreams as you have them

Don't think of any as too outlandish or foolish - remember - you're dreaming. 

Let the thoughts fly within scriptural limits and take careful record. 

Now, prioritize those dreams. 

which are most important?

Which are most feasible?

Which would you love to do the most

Put them in the order in which you will actually try to attain them. 

Remember, we are always moving toward action - not just dreaming. 

#3. MAKE YOUR GOALS S.M.A.R.T

To make your goals S.M.A.R.T simply means to ensure that whatever your are setting as a goal must be 

SPECIFIC 

MEASURABLE

ATTAINABLE

REALISTIC

TIME SENSITIVE

#4. HAVE ACCOUNTABILITY

When someone knows what your goals are, they hold you accountable by asking you to give account of where you are in the process of achieving that goal. 

Accountability puts some teeth into your process. 

If a goal is set and only one person knows it, does it really have any power? Many times, no. 

A goal isn't as powerful if you don't have one or more people who can hold you accountable to it. 

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the lord.

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the lord weighs the spirits.

Commit your works to the lord, and your thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:1-3

GOAL SETTING PART 2.

Setting goals is a crucial part of preparation. Fasting and praying sharpens our spiritual sensitivity. It gives us access to the voice of the Holy  Spirit. It is a time to keep watch and hear what the Holy Spirit would say to us. I will stand upon my watch, (for 1, 3, 21, 40 days) and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. Hab 2:1

By doing this, the following are the resultant benefits: 

light breaks forth

health springs forth speedily

Your righteousness goes forth before you

You experience glory

You enjoy unhindered answers to prayers

You enjoy divine direction 

You emerge as men and women with capacity to give form to the earth. Isaiah 58:8-12

As you pray and fast, it is wisdom to also engage the machinery of planning. Setting relevant Goals is planning. 

Even though the Spirit of God moved over the waters in the beginning, God still engaged planning. How do I know this?

If God had not planned creation, fish would have come before water, plantation would have come before land, the sun, moon and stars would have been installed before the firmament, and man would have showed up before what he was designed to manage. Everything was systematically and strategically planned out. 

Men who engage strategic planning always operate under the _unforced rhythms of grace 

They do not flap their wings, they simply spread their wings and soar. 

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselor they are established. Proverbs 15:22

Failing to plan is actually planning to fail. And to plan is actually seeking after wise counsels, which establishes your goings. In 2018, you will not invest your energy, time, resources in unproductive ventures.

FAITH IS A MUST

The same way air is a must when it comes to human existence, Faith is a must for our spiritual existence. 

Faith is not a myth, philosophy or ideology. Faith is the life wire of our existence on this side of the divide. 

Man is no doubt a three in one personality, he is a spirit, possesses a soul and lives in a body. Without the spirit, the soul and body becomes lifeless. 

God is a Spirit and it would takes the spirit component of man to effectively connect with God. This interlock between the Spirit (God) and the spirit (man) can only be made possible by faith. 

Faith is the medium that establishes a relationship between divinity and humanity. Faith is the established interface for expressing the reality of eternal virtues. 

Outside of faith, Godly expressions on the earth becomes impossible. Faith is the established relationship between the invisible and the visible. "By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible." Hebrews 11:27

That challenge confronting you would always bow to the authority and audacity of faith. For your proclaimed fasting and prayers to connect with answers from heaven, faith is a must. Faith is the hands that connects fasting to the release of power. 

Faith is seeing the evidences of your answered prayers long before it is delivered.

Whatever took you to  a prophetic company automatically implicates you with the prophetic anointing. Saul found himself in a prophetic company and suddenly began to prophesy. The truth is that company or association, affects your output. Environment affects achievement. Association triggers illumination, transformation or revolution. 

The right things happen to you when you are connected to the right people. There is a company that provokes the release of your potential. 

No matter how good you are as a person, there are something's you cannot achieve alone. 

Right association is needed for assimilation, affectation, acceleration, and not just for socialization. 

Nobody develops in isolation, however, true friendship is not for convenience, but for conviction. The best thing that can happen to you is a true and loyal friend....these kind are however scarce commodities these days. 

A thousand good friends will never be enough, but accommodating one bad friend is too much to handle. 

Your relationships are either making you or destroying you. It is either elevating you or limiting you. 

Dong just give people access to your life, they must qualify for a space in your works. 

Friendship is not a gift, but a conscious choice you make.

HANDLE CRITICISM LIKE A PRO

Criticism is easier to take when you realize that the only people who aren't criticized are those who lack the faith to take "risky" steps. 

Faith can be seen as trusting the unseen to take you to the presently unknown. In circular terms, it is taking a risk. 

Don't be afraid of the risk involved - and know you're in good company if you are criticized for doing what is right. 

People will target you if it will bring attention to themselves. There's usually a subtext to their attack, which is something I realized after being criticized in my youth ministry a couple of times by people I hold their interest so dare in my heart. 

One way I have learnt to fizzle their fire is not to respond, because all they seek is your negative reaction. 

In the meantime they have brought attention to you, and that can work for you in some cases. 

Be sure to view both sides when and if this happens to you, because there are times when a response of self-defense is warranted. 

People skills no doubt comes with experience and attentiveness. So from day one in your business or ministry, take into account the importance of your partnerships - on both a personal and professional level. 

One thing you should keep in mind is that critics are your cheapest platform for self advertisement - if you are doing the right thing. 

Also critics also help you discover little foxes that need to be gotten rid off moments before the appearance of a major breakthrough. You need wisdom to make the distinction. 

The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his place. An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbours reputation: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. Proverbs 11:8-9

THE ART OF NEGOTIATION
One skill you with need to master is negotiation. This is because the best deals are always good for everyone, which creates a win - win situation.

Negotiation is persuasion more than power. Its a bit like diplomacy, although one can be a diplomat and still be stubborn.

You've got to know what the other side wants and where they are coming from. Be reasonable, and flexible, and never let anyone know exactly where you are coming from.

Knowledge is power, so keep as much of it to yourself as possible. And remember the golden rule of negotiation: "He who has the gold makes the rules"

That does not however negate equal opportunity, but that's an unspoken fact that is definitely present. Always bare in mind that you could be laying the foundation for future business deals so the emphasis should be on fairness and integrity.  

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: Proverbs 10:32

STRONG RELATIONSHIP IS KEY

I have come to discover that relationships and reputations are closely intertwined. Sometimes it takes a long while to see someone's backbone, or lack of it, and sometimes it is readily apparent.

*"You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do"*Henry Ford.

You cannot also build a good reputation if your relationships or partners aren't right.

Partnerships must of a necessity have loyalty and integrity at their core.

For instance, if a potential partner has to talk himself or herself up too much, that's sometimes a tip off that something is not quite right.

Partners are crucial, but above all, they must be trustworthy.

It is wisdom to locate people who have the same values as you do, if success must be guaranteed.

One sure way to become a good partner, either business, ministry or marriage, is to ask yourself, "what kind of partner would I like to have?" And the become that kind of partner yourself. Integrity has a way of attracting integrity.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. Proverbs 9:9

You cannot do good business with a bad partner.

Whenever you find a struggling business, a bad marriage, a crawling ministry, or an investment gone bad, you will find a bad partner.

This does not mean the person is a bad person, although they could be. It just means they are a bad partner, the wrong person for the task at hand.

In the institution of marriage, the world is also filled with good people who are married to the wrong person.

And if you encounter a truly bad person - a person with low legal, ethical, and moral values - no matter how good you might be, the business or marriage will go "south" or bad.

If you have bad partners, whatever you touch will turn bad. And if you have great partners, everything you touch turns into gold.

THE STRENGTH OF CHARACTER

At the foundation of great success is solid character.

Character portrays what your inner man is saying.

To lack character is to be described as a simple one void of understanding.

People who lack character end up victims of loose women.

They are moved by every wave of doctrine and therefore fall into the hands if bad people.

With character comes FOCUS - Follow One Course Until Successful

When you lack the power of focus, you will always lack direction.

"Dreams without education, goals, proper planning, mentors, and corresponding actions creates delusional people, also called 'day dreamers'"

As we commence the journey into 2018, let's work on our character (the unseen part of us that defines our visible steps) so we can make the most of this great year.

MOVE WITH THE FEAR OF GOD

Personal leadership is the bedrock of other forms of leadership. You cannot be a servant leader or a transformational leader if your personal leadership is questionable. It takes the fear of God to have sound personal leadership ethos.

Don't enter into deals without considering all sides of the agreement.

Avoid lazy actions - consider the way of the ant, it operates with minimal or no supervision at all, yet it gets its job done.

Poverty waits for the person who is mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually lazy - we need activity to avoid the settlement of dust.

Avoid evil imaginations, speak the right words, relate with good people and engage in worthy ventures.

Here are some things that corrupt personal leadership.
1. Eyes that are arrogant
2. A tongue that speaks lies
3. Hands that murder the innocent
4. A heart that hatches evil plots
5. Feet that race down a wicked track
6. A mouth the lies under oath,
7. A troublemaker in the family.
8. Oil marketers hoarding fuel with the intent of making evil gain.

When you do these things, you position catastrophic moments in path to your future.

These are all little foxes that corrupt personal leadership, it is time to get them out.

Before blaming government, make right your personal leadership stands.

There shall be a national rebirth, and it would begin with you. Our nation would be healed one person at a time.

Sound advice is a beacon, good teaching is a light, moral discipline is a life path. These are the needs of our youths - if the next generation must be preserved.

Whatever is waring against the development of personal leadership would be consumed by fire in Jesus name.

Everything within us that is the reason for our limitations would be revealed by the word in Jesus name.

STAY CLEAR OF NEGATIVE INFLUENCE

People with negative influence possess deceptive lips that drop like an honeycomb, their mouth can be as smooth as oil. Don't let them sweet talk you into destruction.

Their end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as two edged sword.

Their feet go down to death; their steps take hold on hell.

If you do not want to end your life full of regrets, embrace personal leadership.

Personal leadership demands self discipline, paying attention to your mentors and taking your teachers serious.

This is the only way to have something great to show.

Wisdom is the principal thing to look out for.

Knowledge is the acquisition of relevant information.

Understanding is the proper ordering of acquired information - knowledge

The appropriate use or application of acquired knowledge is WISDOM.

When you exalt wisdom, you gain promotion and step into avenues of honour.

You need common sense to walk, basic principles to run, but when it comes to flying, you will need the instructions of Wisdom.

In 2018, "Your path shall be like the shining light, that shines more and more unto the day of your showing forth. You will be celebrated this year."

Only take fast hold of instructions; let her not go: keep her; for she is your life.
