DAY 28 — TEACH SOMEONE INTEGRITY

📖 SCRIPTURAL READINGS

Old Testament: Deuteronomy 6:6–7
New Testament: 2 Timothy 2:2

✨ WORDSPIRATION

Integrity is too valuable to keep to yourself. It must be transferred.

Deuteronomy 6:6–7 reveals that God’s truth was never intended to remain locked inside one generation. His instructions were to be taught diligently to children and woven into everyday life. Likewise, Paul instructed Timothy to entrust what he had learned to faithful people who would be able to teach others. This is the multiplication of character: truth received, truth lived, and truth transferred.

Integrity is more than refusing to lie. It is the wholeness of a life—when your private character agrees with your public confession. It is choosing truth when deception would be easier, keeping your word when breaking it would be convenient, handling money faithfully when no one is watching, admitting a mistake instead of hiding it, and doing what is right even when there is no applause.

This is closely connected to honor. To honor God is to value what He values. To honor people is to treat them truthfully and fairly. To honor yourself is to refuse to compromise the character God is developing in you.

But integrity becomes even more powerful when it becomes reproducible.

Someone is learning from you.

A child may be watching how you speak when you are angry.
A student may be watching whether you give credit to others.
An employee may be watching whether you manipulate figures.
A younger leader may be watching what you do when nobody can hold you accountable.
A friend may be watching whether your “yes” really means yes.

Your life is a curriculum.

You may never stand behind a pulpit, write a book, or lead thousands of people, yet your daily choices are teaching someone what it means to be trustworthy.

Therefore, don't merely tell people, “Be honest.” Show them what honesty looks like.

Don't merely say, “Have integrity.” Demonstrate integrity under pressure.

Don't merely teach people to honor God. Let them see you honor God when obedience costs you something.

The greatest inheritance you can leave may not be money, property, position, or possessions. It may be people whose character was strengthened because they watched your life and learned that truth is worth standing for.

Paul's instruction in 2 Timothy 2:2 gives us a picture of spiritual multiplication: what has been received is entrusted to faithful people who will teach others. That means your responsibility is not only to become a person of integrity but also to raise other people who understand why integrity matters.

Ask yourself today:

Who is becoming like me because they are watching me?

And then ask:

What am I teaching them through my example?

Integrity is not merely a personal virtue. It is a legacy.

🔎 TODAY'S HONOR LESSON

Honor protects integrity because honor refuses to treat truth as something negotiable.

When you honor God, you don't adjust your standards according to circumstances.

When you honor people, you don't deceive them for personal advantage.

When you honor your responsibility, you don't need constant supervision to do what is right.

When you honor your word, your promises become trustworthy.

A person of integrity can be trusted because their character does not change simply because the audience changes.

Character is revealed when doing the right thing costs something.

Today, identify one person you can intentionally mentor in honesty, responsibility, truthfulness, and faithfulness. Don't only give them instructions. Give them an example.

🌱 PRACTICAL APPLICATION

1. Choose someone to influence intentionally.
   A child, student, colleague, employee, friend, or emerging leader may need your example.

2. Teach through real situations.
   Explain why you tell the truth, return what does not belong to you, acknowledge mistakes, and keep your commitments.

3. Let people see your corrections.
   When you make a mistake, don't hide it. Own it, apologize where necessary, and make it right.

4. Transfer convictions, not merely information.
   Help others understand not only what integrity requires but why it matters before God.

5. Multiply what you have learned.
   Ask yourself, “Who can I help become a person others can trust?”

🌍 KINGDOM ADVANCEMENT PRAYER

Nigeria:
Father, raise a generation of honest, courageous, disciplined, and honorable young Nigerians. Let integrity become stronger than the pressure to compromise. Give young people the wisdom to reject violence, criminality, corruption, exploitation, and hopelessness. Place godly mentors and examples around them, and let homes, schools, churches, workplaces, and communities become environments where truth and righteousness are celebrated.

Raise leaders who cannot be bought, manipulated, or intimidated into abandoning what is right. Let Nigeria be strengthened by a generation whose character can sustain the influence and opportunities You place in their hands.

The Nations:
We pray for Rwanda, the Philippines, Italy, Canada, and Colombia. Raise a new generation of godly leaders in every sphere of society. Establish truth, justice, wisdom, and integrity in families, institutions, businesses, governments, and communities. Let those who carry influence understand that leadership is not merely about position but about stewardship.

May those who have learned righteousness faithfully transfer it to others, creating a multiplying legacy of honorable leadership across the nations.

May God make your life a trustworthy testimony.

May your character speak even when you are silent.
May your integrity protect the influence entrusted to you.
May your “yes” carry weight and your “no” carry conviction.
May you have courage to choose truth when compromise appears easier.

May those who watch your life learn to love what is right.

May the values you demonstrate be reproduced in your children, mentees, colleagues, leaders, and communities.

May your character become a legacy, and may the people you influence carry that legacy farther than you ever imagined.
