PART 1: YOU ARE HEALED — UNDERSTANDING DIVINE HEALING

PART 1: YOU ARE HEALED — UNDERSTANDING DIVINE HEALING

Key Scripture

1 Peter 2:24 — “By His wounds you are healed.”

Introduction

There are times when the Holy Spirit wants to re-echo one truth to our hearts again and again:

By the stripes of Jesus, you are healed.

Healing is not merely an idea. It is part of the redemptive work of Christ.

When Jesus went to the cross, He did not go there because He had committed sin. He went there because of us.

He took our place.

He bore what we could not bear.

He paid a price we could not pay.

And through His finished work, He opened the way for us to experience forgiveness, restoration, reconciliation, and healing.

JESUS WENT TO THE CROSS FOR US

Isaiah 53:5 says:

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

The cross was substitutionary.

Jesus stood in our place.

He suffered because of our sin and rebellion, and His sacrifice became the foundation of our reconciliation with God.

That is why the cross is central to our faith.

When we look at the cross, we see the love of God.

We see the seriousness of sin.

We see the price of redemption.

And we see the hope of restoration.

HEALING BEGINS WITH THE WORD OF GOD

One of the things we must learn is not to allow our circumstances to become louder than God's Word.

Sometimes your body says one thing.

Your emotions say another thing.

Your circumstances say another thing.

But what has God said?

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.

Romans 10:17

This is why we must search the Scriptures.

Pray.

Meditate.

Study.

Don't simply read the Bible casually.

Look for what God has said concerning your situation.

There are moments when you need to stay with the Word until revelation comes.

You need to pray until the Word becomes established in your heart.

GOD IS STILL THE HEALER

Psalm 103:2–3 says:

“Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.”

God is interested in the whole person.

He cares about your spirit.

He cares about your body.

He cares about your mind.

He cares about your emotions.

He cares about your relationships.

He cares about your future.

FAITH DOES NOT MEAN DENYING REALITY

When we say, “You are healed,” we are not saying that a person should pretend symptoms do not exist or refuse appropriate medical care.

Faith does not require denial.

You can pray and seek medical attention.

You can believe God and also listen to qualified professionals.

You can trust God while following wise treatment.

Our confidence is ultimately in God.

DECLARATION

Today, receive this Word:

By His wounds, you are healed.

May the healing power of God touch your body.

May God restore your strength.

May God bring peace to your mind.

May God restore what has been broken.

May God give you grace to walk through the healing process.

You are healed in Jesus' name. Amen.
